Intertek is currently seeking an Electrical & Mechanical Inspector to support field activities on industrial and energy projects. The role involves on-site inspection and quality surveillance during installation and construction phases, ensuring compliance with project specifications, applicable codes and quality processes.
Responsibilities
- Review technical documentation, perform field inspections for electrical, instrumentation and mechanical installations, manage inspection notifications and punch lists, and support quality control plans throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work closely with project teams, contractors and clients to ensure safe and compliant execution.
- Good knowledge of technical documentation such as Wiring Diagrams, P&IDs;, Instrument Lists, Data Sheets, Electrical Specifications, Piping Specifications, and Welding & NDT qualifications.
- Solid understanding of quality processes, including inspection notifications, punch list management, and ITP/QCP implementation.
- Proven field experience in electrical and instrumentation installation inspections (experience in module construction projects is highly valued).
- Field mechanical inspection experience (preferably within module construction projects).
- Familiarity with American industry codes, regulations and standards such as ASME B31.3, API 6D and NFPA 70 / NEC.
- Strong expertise in installation and hook-up activities, including equipment, piping systems and infrastructure connections in offshore or marine environments.
- Knowledge of project management tools, relevant software and augmented reality methodologies is considered an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent interpersonal abilities.
- Fluency in spoken and written English.
