General Manager – Spain Our client is an international biotechnology company with a core purpose of guiding its unstoppable team to strive toward improving the lives of patients with innovative and differentiated antibody therapeutics. For more than 25 years, its passionate, innovative and collaborative team has invented next-generation antibody technology platforms and leveraged translational, quantitative and data sciences, resulting in a proprietary pipeline including bispecific T-cell engagers, antibody-drug conjugates, next-generation immune checkpoint modulators and effector function-enhanced antibodies. The General Manager for Spain will lead all commercial operations for our oncology portfolio, focusing on solid tumors, across the Spanish market. Reporting to the EU Head for Commercial, s/he will play a critical role in driving the strategic direction, market access, sales, and marketing efforts across Spain, while aligning with broader EU and global strategies. This position calls for a dynamic leader with significant experience in both large pharmaceutical and small biotech companies, a deep understanding of the European healthcare landscape, and a proven track record in oncology commercialization. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Leadership : Develop and execute holistic commercial strategies and key tactics for both pre-launch and post-launch phases, ensuring alignment with global functions while tailoring approaches to the Spanish healthcare landscape. Sales and Marketing Management : Lead and manage a high-performing sales team, establishing clear sales strategies, measuring performance, and ensuring alignment with EU-wide sales goals. Oversee the development and execution of marketing campaigns, driving brand positioning and market adoption across Spain and contributing to the company's EU commercial success. Market Access : Lead market access efforts, including pricing, reimbursement, and stakeholder engagement with key decision-makers in the Spanish healthcare system, ensuring optimal access for the company’s oncology treatments. Collaborate with the EU market access team to align pricing and reimbursement strategies. Collaboration Across Europe : Partner with the EU commercial teams to ensure strategic alignment and effective execution of product launches and market strategies. Share insights and collaborate on cross-border initiatives to strengthen the company’s presence in oncology across the European market. Collaboration with Medical : Collaborate closely with medical teams locally and globally to develop comprehensive brand plans and identify opportunities to strengthen scientific positioning. Team Building and Development : Attract, develop, and inspire a high-performing, science-driven commercial team that excels in delivering value to customers while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Leadership and Decision Making : Serve as a critical member of the Spain and EU leadership teams, contributing to strategic decision-making and fostering a culture aligned with the company’s core values. Qualifications and skills: Education : A bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business administration, or a related field is required. An MBA or similar advanced degree is preferred. Experience : A minimum of 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with significant leadership roles in sales, marketing, and market access within the EU oncology market. Experience in both large pharma and small biotech companies is essential. Skills : Strong strategic thinking with the ability to develop and execute comprehensive business plans across a multi-country region. Proven leadership abilities, with the ability to lead a diverse team and collaborate across various functions and geographies. In-depth understanding of the European healthcare landscape, including reimbursement policies, regulatory systems, and market dynamics. Established deep relationships with KOLs Ability to build foundational capabilities for an Oncology organization including infrastructure, processes and ability to recruit and retain top talent. Proficiency in both English and Spanish is essential; additional European language skills are a plus.
