Financial Controller – Airbus Defence & Space

A vacancy within the Financial Controller department.
The selected candidate will join the team and contribute to the financial performance and governance of Airbus Defence & Space.ResponsibilitiesCO-PILOT THE FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE – plan, challenge and drive financial outcomes.Understand the business operational environment (strategy, governance, challenges, constraints).
Lead the preparation of financial planning, accurate forecasts, provide guidance aligned with the company's financial situation, and challenge business requests.Set and maintain multi-year financial targets.Develop and run financial models, simulations, scenarios and business cases (projects, M&A;, tenders) to support decision making and provide a comprehensive view on financial implications.Anticipate financial risks & opportunities and advise on mitigation strategies.Identify and secure external funding opportunities.Produce accurate financial reporting at the appropriate level of granularity.Assess presente performance, analyse deviations and advise on corrective actions.Analyse cost base, revenues and unit costs (Airframe / Engine, R&D;).
Identify actionable drivers for optimisation and competitiveness initiatives and monitor savings materialisation.Compute hourly rate, support on resource review and headcount targets, prepare chargeback and cost re-allocation models.Approve shopping carts, audit POs below approval thresholds (sampling approach), review commitments and accruals.Trigger cost rebooking and cost transfer when required.Feed Investor Relations with relevant information supporting Airbus Equity Story.Ensure compliance and enforce finance processes.Define, together with Tax, Treasury and Accounting, appropriate funding/cost allocation schemes and trigger corresponding actions.Review statutory accounts of affiliates under scope of responsibility.Define appropriate cost accounting structure (cost centres, project codes) matching business and finance requirements.Help the business navigate and adhere to finance processes, particularly for Public Contracts, Tax Credit, IAS38, etc.Raise finance awareness in the business, define and share a finance toolbox (e.g. business case) and relevant references.All financial dimensions – P&L;, Cash Flow, Balance Sheet, cost base, revenues, subsidies, tax credit – must be considered for all relevant periods (monthly, quarterly, yearly, multi-years).
Qualifications & SkillsDegree in Engineering or Science (Master's preferred).
Minimum 5 years of proven experience in Composites and/or Metal and/or Surface Materials and Processes, including testing of materials and comprehension of test methods.Experience in supporting new material supplier qualifications and developments.Impact analysis and problem-solving experience.Experience in an international environment.Knowledge of materials requirements for Airbus aircraft standards and quality standards.Experience in material technology development and scientific/technology laboratories.Project management skills.Understanding of low-observability material applications (thermal or electrical).
