Amazon Worldwide Operations Security (WWOS) is looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented System Developement Engineer with a diverse skill set to provide infrastructure support, development, and vulnerability solutions for the WWOS Security Integrations Group (SIG), Global Engineering Team (GET).
As a member of the team, you will play an active role in maintaining and optimizing our global infrastructure while driving automation initiatives. You'll work with AWS services, including EC2 and CloudWatch, managing monthly patching cycles and coordinating annual system updates on Amazon Operations' physical security infrastructure, including access control and video systems. Your focus will be on both operational stability and technological advancement through standardization and process improvement.
Key job responsibilities
* Research, analyze and remediate security vulnerabilities through thorough testing and validation
* Manage AWS infrastructure using AWS Console and Ansible for configuration management
* Perform deep-dive technical analysis of Windows operating systems and infrastructure
* Develop and maintain Power Shell and Python scripts for process automation
* Provide comprehensive infrastructure support for critical system issues across multiple products
* Drive process improvement projects to enhance support delivery
* Partner with global Amazon teams to resolve complex customer issues
* Create and maintain technical documentation
* Lead and execute ambiguous technical projects
* Implement AWS services and cloud infrastructure solutions
About the team
Security Integrations Group (SIG), a part of Amazon Worldwide Operations Security (WWOS), is primarily an engineering team for Amazon's physical security systems across the globe, but also participates in the design, development, deployment, and project management aspects of these systems. SIG provides 24 / 7 customer support for physical security systems. SIG provides 24x7 support via support engineering teams in AMER, APAC, and EMEA. Engineers are available in-office at all times.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar
* 2 years experience in software programming with at least one modern language
* 2 years experience designing software / systems, implementing, maintaining and deploying components that solve problems in a complex ecosystem
* Experience managing projects with shifting priorities
* Experience with network fundamentals (including load balancers, switches, routers, etc.)
* Experience building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external partners
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience with AWS, networks and operating systems
* Experience with physical security systems (such as Lenel, Honeywell, AMAG, Bosch, Milestone) or their associated hardware
* Ability to program to solve problems and automate repetitive tasks in a common scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python
* Experience working with Ansible Automation Platform
* Hold a current ASIS CPP, APP or PSP certification
