JOB TITLE : Human Resources Representative

REPORTS TO : Human Resources Manager

SUMMARY
Handles and maintains human resource policies and procedures, providing support across all functional areas of the HR department relevant to the business. Collects and analyzes HR data to ensure accuracy; exercises tact and diplomacy when dealing with sensitive, complex, and confidential personnel issues and employee situations.
JOB FUNCTIONS :
* Recruits, interviews, creates and posts ads, tests, selects, and recommends candidates to fill vacancies; coordinates on-site Job Fairs.
* Initiates background checks and drug screenings.
* Plans and conducts new employee orientations to foster positive attitudes towards company goals.
* Assists in managing leaves of absence and communicates with Corporate HR.
* Coordinates with Corporate HR to implement programs such as employee recognition and relations.
* Understands, applies, and explains applicable employment laws and regulations.
* Maintains current knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
* Identifies and reports inconsistencies and issues to management.
* Performs special projects and other HR responsibilities as assigned in collaboration with Corporate HR.
* Leads the Safety Committee for the Indiana facility and conducts regular safety inspections, reporting outcomes to Corporate HR.
* Manages employee relations issues at the Regent facility in conjunction with the HR Manager.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Effective teamwork, problem-solving, and team-building skills. Basic counseling and negotiation skills. Strong listening and verbal communication skills. Experience in interviewing candidates. Excellent time and stress management skills. Proficiency in computer software, including word processing and spreadsheets.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING :
* High School Diploma required; college coursework preferred.
RELATED JOB EXPERIENCE
* At least 2 years in manufacturing and/or aerospace sectors.
* 2 to 3 years of HR experience required.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS :
* Knowledge of HR procedures.
* Excellent skills in Excel and Word.
* Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
* Strong desire to excel and proven ability to communicate across organizational levels.
* Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
PHYSICAL MOTION
Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods; walking and standing occasionally; capable of exerting up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, or pull objects.
VISUAL DEMANDS
* Depth perception required.
