Who are we working with?
We are currently working with a growing multinational insurance company with locations in Europe, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Colombia and Jamaica that is developing transformative technology focused on natural disaster insurance and is looking for a Applied Scientist to create higher level data products based on remote sensing data. Whether that is implementing existing algorithms, evaluating existing algorithms provided by a third party (OSS) or simply evaluating already existing data feeds.
What will your day to day tasks be?
- Prototype and implement algorithm related to radar, multi/hyper spectral imagery
- Participate in geospatial artificial intelligence model development (supervised and unsupervised)
- Collaborate with academia on development of novel GIS methods
- Create statistical models for time-series processing and data fusion algorithms
- Rapid algorithm prototyping in Python
What are we looking for?
- Masters but preferably Phd science degree in computer sciences, remote sensing, machine
learning signal processing, etc.
- Independent data analysis and signal processing skills to prototype new and existing algorithms
- Capability to evaluate different algorithms and dataset using statistical methods
- Prior software development experience (agile development, git, rapid prototyping)
- Experience with satellite radar (active/passive) and/or multi/hyper-spectral imagery
- Self-motivated and critical/creative thinking and willing to learn is a “must have”
- Strong communication skills (written and oral) in English.
What do we value?
