Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in the Greater Barcelona Metropolitan Area for the Head of Design – Womenswear at H&M.; The role involves overseeing the design direction and strategy for the womenswear category, managing the design team, and ensuring innovative yet commercially viable designs. Tasks include creating and approving design concepts, ensuring brand alignment, and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as product development and marketing - both in India and Spain - to bring designs to life.

We are looking for a highly creative, fashion-forward and commercially minded leader. The individual will also be responsible for trend forecasting and monitoring market demands. Trips to Stockholm on a bi-monthly basis required.

Responsabilities

- Oversee and coordinate a team of designers and pds, both in Barcelona and India.
- Research and identify key seasonal trends, colours, fabrics, silhouettes and fashion directions.
- Develop trend-led yet commercial collections aligned with the H&M; customer and calendar.
- Create moodboards, product concepts, flat sketches and detailed tech packs.
- Work closely with merchandising, development and production teams to ensure smooth execution from concept to final product.
- Build strong, elevated collections with attention to product detail, fabric, wash and finishings.
- Collaborate with fabric suppliers, mainly in India, ensuring strong communication and development follow-up.
- Present ideas and collections internally and to clients in a clear and inspiring way.
- React quickly to emerging trends and customer needs in a fast-paced environment.
- Ensure collections are fashion relevant while maintaining strong price awareness and commerciality.
- Visits to Stockholm to meet the teams

Qualifications

- Proficiency in Womenwear Design Soft Woven + 10 years
- Experience in both supplier and brand side
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities. Ideally have managed a team before
- Proactive approach to trend analysis and market research
- Relevant degree in Fashion Design, Visual Arts, or a related field
- Domain of AI is preferable
- Great commercial approach to design
- Fluency in English
