MarAlliance is working to protect threatened marine wildlife with dependent communities – specifically tropical, coastal sharks and rays (elasmobranchs), sea turtles, and large finfish important for fisheries – and their critical habitats in the Mesoamerican Reef (MAR), Southern Caribbean, and Eastern Tropical Pacific.
Our work spans multiple countries, sites, and languages, partnering with governments, communities, and other NGOs.
In the face of declines in many populations of marine wildlife, these species need a strong, effective, and science-based voice to support partners in shaping conservation strategies, management actions, and policies that protect remaining populations and help reverse declines.
MarAlliance envisions healthy tropical seas with thriving populations of marine megafauna stewarded by people.
