Senior r&d simulation models specialist

The opportunity brYou shall be working in the research and development department of the global product group PCS (Power Conversion Systems within the Hitachi Energy's Grid Automation Business Unit). The R D team is responsible for the power electronics converters development control and automation logics relevant to Energy Storage, Photovoltaics, Hybrid solutions. brThe proposed role is available in the Hitachi Energy Grid Automation offices in Genova (Italy), and in Seville (Spain). brBeing part of a global team, you shall interact with the different stakeholders of the organization and Operational units worldwide. brYour focus shall be on the modelling of Power Conversion Systems product portfolio (power electronics converters and power plant controller), with focus on models' development, testing validation in PSS/E simulation tool. brHow you'll make an impact: brYou shall leverage your extensive knowledge of modelling applied to Power Systems, Power Electronics and digital control techniques being responsible for the PSS/E models development of the PCS product portfolio. brWorking with the R D senior management you shall participate in the definition and implementation the product modelling roadmap for PCS, being supporting the model delivery and rollout of the models including in the deliver grid impact studies for execution projects. brAs part of the R D team you will have the opportunity to interact with Product Management, external consultants, and internal customers globally located. brResponsible for the PSS/E's simulation models development, testing and validation. brResponsible for documentation generation, version tracking and quality checks. brProvide training and support of PCS colleagues, customers, and consultants. Your background: brMaster's degree, preferred in either Electrical or Electronic Engineering, with focus on Power System stability and Power Electronics domain. A Ph D in the area of renewable energy grid integration with focus on modelling control aspects would be a plus. brMinimum 5 years of experience in modelling and studying Power Systems and Power Electronics, using PSS/E. Tests automation and reporting is a must. brExperience in DIg SILENT Power Factory PSCAD is a plus. brExcellent knowledge of Power System, Power Electronics and Control system modelling. brExperience in executing Grid Impact Studies for renewable generation systems. brKnowledge of Python, Py Test and simulation automation techniques is a plus. brSolid presentation skills and fluency in English, both written and spoken. brHigh awareness for quality, process and tool in related area. brSelf-motivated, independent, organized and structured way of working. brAble to operate in a highly motivated team environment. brAvailability to travel globally (20 - 30% of the time) More about us brWe offer you the opportunity to work with fantastic people and develop yourself on projects that present great technical challenges and have a real impact.
