Context And Mission
The Human Resources (HR) team at BSC is seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior HR Mobility & Onboarding Officer to lead our mobility and onboarding efforts while supervising a junior team member. This role involves managing foreign affairs, ensuring seamless onboarding experiences, and driving process improvements. The successful candidate will also oversee the maintenance of our HRS4R initiative, aligning with BSC’s commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace.
Key Duties Mobility Management & Personnel Administration
- Oversee and manage work permits for new staff and their families, including renewals.
- Act as the primary point of contact for mobility-related matters at BSC, providing expert advice to staff and management.
- Analyze mobility data to identify trends and implement process improvements.
- Prepare monthly reports on mobility activities and metrics.
- Oversee the preparation of employment contracts and explain BSC policies and procedures to new hires.
Onboarding
- Design and implement onboarding processes to ensure a welcoming and informative introduction for new employees.
- Provide key information to new staff on housing, taxes, banking, schools, and other relocation essentials.
- Conduct BSC introduction sessions and maintain onboarding materials and resources.
- Organize and support social activities for newcomers and existing staff in collaboration with the HR team.
- Monitor and report on onboarding Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Team Supervision : Supervise and mentor a junior HR Officer, ensuring task alignment and professional development. Delegate responsibilities effectively to maintain team productivity and service excellence.
- HRS4R Initiative : Maintenance of the HRS4R accreditation, and collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with HRS4R standards and best practices.
- Manage the procedure for reviewing and approving requests for compatibility with private activities, ensuring compliance with internal policies and legal regulations.
Requirements Education
- University Degree (Social Sciences, Labour Relations, Psychology, or similar)
Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
- At least 3 years of experience in HR, with a focus on mobility and onboarding, preferably in an international environment.
- Proven experience managing work permits and relocation processes.
- Previous experience supervising or mentoring team members.
- Excellent verbal and written communication (Spanish, Catalan and English).
- Experience in HR within research or academic institutions.
Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
- Familiarity with maintaining or supporting institutional accreditations such as HRS4R.
- Other languages will be a plus.
- Solid skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

- Duration : Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration
- Holidays : 22 days of holidays + 6 personal days + 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement
- Salary : we offer a competitive salary commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate and according to the cost of living in Barcelona
