Arco Irish are leading the search and selection process for a Director of Business Development for EI Electronics in Spain.About EI ElectronicsEI Electronics are a leading fire detection and life-safety solutions provider, trusted for high-quality products that protect people and property. The company is expanding its footprint in Spain and are now looking to appoint a commercially driven, technically proficient leader to establish and grow its presence from the ground up. This is a strategic role with autonomy, backed by a global team with a long-term growth mindset.The OpportunityAs the first EI Electronics team member on the ground in Spain, you will have the opportunity to co-create and execute a market-entry strategy, drive commercial relationships, and influence specifications across residential and public-sector segments. You will work closely with HQ and international colleagues while building a local network of distributors, specifiers, housing/regional authorities, and installers. This role combines business development, training, and technical leadership to establish EI Electronics as the trusted partner in Spain.Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Market DevelopmentImplement a strategic plan to grow Spain-wide market share for fire detection, accessories, and cloud-connected products.Manage major accounts, buying groups, and distributors; conduct quarterly reviews and promotional planning.Identify and develop new opportunities in residential and public-sector segments.Achieve sales targets, KPIs, and margin objectives.Installer Engagement & TrainingDeliver high-quality product training, demonstrations, and technical presentations to installers, contractors, and service companies.Provide design guidance, product selection support, and troubleshooting assistance.Develop training materials with input from technical and marketing teams; promote best practices in installation, compliance, and local regulations.Specification & Industry InfluenceBuild relationships with specifiers, consulting engineers, housing authorities, and fire-safety decision-makers.Secure specification of EI systems on residential projects; participate in industry events, seminars, and trade fairs.Monitor local legislation, standards, and compliance requirements related to fire safety, air quality, TEC, and related areas.Market Intelligence & ReportingAnalyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform strategy.Provide regular forecasts, pipeline updates, and performance reports.Collaborate with Marketing, Product Management, and Customer Service to align market needs with capabilities.ExperienceAt least 5 years successful B2B sales, channel development, and strategic partnerships.Proven track record launching or expanding a business into a new geographic market; remote leadership is an advantage.Experience with specifiers, engineers, housing/regional authorities, and fire-safety decision-makers.Skills & CompetenciesHunter mentality with autonomous, proactive drive; strong relationship-building and networking abilities.Strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset; capable of defining path to market leadership and building scalable approaches from scratch.Customer-centric focus, outstanding credibility with stakeholders, and excellent negotiation skills.Technical acumen in Residential Life Safety/Home Automation; comfortable discussing specifications, design guidance, and compliance.Excellent communication skills, including remote collaboration, presentations, and executive updates.Compensation and BenefitsCompetitive base salary up to €80,000 per annumBonus: Eligible for performance-based bonusBenefits: Company Car + a comprehensive package (details to be discussed).Ongoing learning and developmentWhy EI Electronics?Opportunity to shape a new market, work with premium products, and grow with a general company recognized for its culture and sustainability (Eco Vadis Gold status 2026).EI Electronics is an equal opportunity employer who celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
