We are seeking a skilled Cyber Security Engineer to join our Global Security team in Barcelona, Spain, where you will design, build, improve, and maintain Clariant's security platforms for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions based primarily on Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.
In this role, you will proactively seek out indicators of compromise that conventional cybersecurity processes cannot find, and track threats and campaigns aimed at the company, ensuring the protection of our integral operations and digital assets.
Responsibilities
Monitor threat intelligence feeds to identify a range of threats, including indicators of compromise and advanced persistent threats (APTs)
Work with data to identify patterns and use judgment to form conclusions that may challenge conventional wisdom
Hypothesize new threats and indicators of compromise to stay ahead of emerging attack vectors
Identify the tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) of potential threats through the MITRE ATT&CK; or similar frameworks
Understand the organization's mission, values, operations, goals, risks, and risk tolerance
Maintain situational awareness for cyber threats across the organization and drive appropriate response activities
Connect threats to organizational risks to provide appropriate capabilities and services
Conduct threat assessments to identify what threats are most likely to target the business and how they would execute their attacks
Provide consultative advice and coaching to cybersecurity stakeholders to help them make informed risk management decisions
Requirements
5+ years of deep hands-on experience in Cyber Security with background in Cyber Threat Intelligence and/or Threat Hunting
Demonstrated ability to analyze large data sets and identify anomalies
Fluent spoken and written English
Solid grasp of core security fundamentals and concepts
Experience with SIEM and SOAR tools
Ability to create scripts and automate processes in Python or other relevant command languages
Strong decision-making capabilities with proven ability to weigh costs and benefits
Understanding of AI technologies for process improvement and threat protection
Ability to quickly create and deploy countermeasures
Cloud security knowledge (Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure) - nice to have
Windows/Linux system administration experience - nice to have
Hands-on practical exam security certifications in cloud security, threat intelligence, or related areas - nice to have
