The Job’s Mission

Reporting directly to the Senior Business Unit Director of the Southern Europe Joint Replacement division, the Business Unit Manager for JR Iberia oversees the management of the Business Unit in the country. Stryker’s Joint Replacement division is at the forefront of orthopedic innovation, delivering market‑leading hip and knee implants combined with advanced Mako SmartRobotics™ technology. By integrating precision robotics, digital planning, and surgeon‑focused solutions, the division empowers healthcare providers to achieve superior outcomes and transform the future of joint replacement surgery. The southern Europe region, where this role is based, is particularly interesting as we plan double‑digit growth for the next four years.

The Business Unit manager has direct responsibility for a team of seasoned Regional Sales Managers and their indirect channel commercial teams. This role coordinates additional support functions aimed at expanding the business and capturing market share. With P&L responsibility over Iberia, the role is pivotal in executing the strategic objectives of the Stryker Joint Replacement Business Unit, including the launch, planning, implementation, and oversight of sales force and marketing programs tailored to boost market penetration and profitability for a specific product/service range within the country.

Responsibilities

* Coordination of Sales Actions.
* Control of the Reporting (Highlights).
* Optimization of resources in the area (deposits, A&P, expenses).
* Information workflow management within the department and with other departments.
* Controlling and managing all resources, personnel, and materials of the area.
* High level knowledge of the CMF diverse products, application and techniques.
* Follow‑up pricing policy of the company. Discount authorizations approval and management.
* Monthly report to CMF Director on the evolution of sales and market adaptation.
* Coordinate sales force.
* Promotion and presentation of products to the sales force and intermediation between sales area and customers.
* Acheive periodic marketing plans and long‑term strategic plans (3‑ and 5‑year).
* Responsible for launching the product at national level.
* Coordination, distribution, and logistics of the product (conditionals, deposits, kits).
* Control and management of investment, personnel team, expenses, margins, and prices.
* Supervise the proper segregation of waste in the department.


Minimum Qualifications

* 10+ years overall commercial experience (Marketing and Sales).
* Solid experience as Commercial or Division Business Unit Leader or Regional Sales Manager for a medical device business with proven progression.
* Direct selling experience required, preferably in the medical device industry, with knowledge of opinion leaders and main products and competitors.
* Fluent in English and Spanish. Intermediate Italian is a plus.
* Proven experience delivering market share growth and financial commitments.
* Experience building and executing on a marketing/sales budget and plan.
* Demonstrated success in building, managing, motivating, and developing strong sales teams with direct and indirect channels; including setting coverage and leveraging territory coverage and customer focus.
* Demonstrated ability to build engagement and leverage performance management systems to reach business objectives; including goal setting, performance planning and monitoring, coaching, feedback, and performance review.
* Strong commercial/financial acumen with record of overachieving organizational goals (sales quota, growth quota, P&L, engagement).
* Excellent collaboration and communication skills; strong cross‑functional influencing skills & teamwork.
