Vestas Mediterranean (MED) is an independent Sales Business Unit (SBU) within Vestas Wind Systems A/S, covering markets in the Mediterranean region, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and Africa. Vestas MED is responsible for developing these markets in terms of sales, project installation, and customer service.
The Customer Project Execution (CPX) department manages all wind farm projects from tendering through to completion. The team takes responsibility for a wind farm once a contract has been signed and remains responsible until final tests are completed. Working closely with logistics, procurement, and finance departments, the team ensures projects stay on budget and schedule, while meeting safety and quality standards. It collaborates with sales and legal departments to maximize energy yield within client specifications.
Responsibilities
1. Deliver electrical engineering services that meet Vestas', its customers', and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
2. Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports, and follow required checking procedures.
3. Support Project Management during EPC Contract implementation, including engineering, construction, testing, and commissioning activities.
4. Supervise construction works such as collector systems, substations, and transmission lines, ensuring adherence to design and quality standards.
5. Establish electrical implementation vision & strategy based on the contract to achieve project performance goals.
6. Ensure subcontractors' compliance with project requirements and customer expectations.
7. Follow engineering progress and site updates until As-built documentation.
8. Travel for site or factory visits and work follow-up, both nationally and internationally, as required.
9. Meet key project targets including profitability, cash flow, and schedule.
10. Assist the SPM with client/subcontractor variations and negotiations related to Electrical BOP issues.
11. Collaborate with SCM on subcontractor selection, negotiations, and awarding.
12. Provide input on BOP requests for quotation packages, technical proposals, and specifications.
Qualifications
1. MSc in Electrical Engineering.
2. 1-3 years of experience in substations, electrical engineering, and construction sites within the Wind Energy sector.
3. Experience on-site, performing project engineering activities on wind farms; experience with transmission lines, protection, and control systems in substations is valued.
4. Fluent in English and Spanish; knowledge of Portuguese, French, Arab, or Romanian is a plus.
5. Valid driving license.
