Regional HR Manager – APAC
Report to the Global Head of HR and lead the APAC HR team. Work closely with senior leaders and the general People team to design and deliver scalable, compliant, and high‑quality HR operations that support Canonical’s continued growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead and expand Canonical’s regional HR team.
- Deliver precise, compliant HR operations with the highest degree of accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate closely with the People team to create unified processes across all regions.
- Own HR processes such as talent development, succession planning, performance assessment, onboarding, culture and engagement initiatives that drive high‑performing teams.
- Partner with senior managers on performance management, organizational design, employee engagement, rewards and workforce planning.
- Coach and advise people managers on the full spectrum of employee‑relations issues across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support the delivery of appropriate training and development programmes.
- Establish trusted partnerships with the business in your region.
- Drive diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
- Design and deliver new policies and business‑critical HR projects globally.
- Present Canonical’s HR practices at internal events.
Qualifications
- Exceptional academic track record (high school and university).
- HR experience leading initiatives across regions within a technology business.
- People‑management experience.
- Experience in business partnering with senior stakeholders.
- Balance of strategic leadership and hands‑on execution in daily HR routines.
- Experience working in a remote‑first organization.
- Leverage data to make informed decisions.
- Knowledge and practical implementation of HR practices and employment law across APAC.
- Experience handling complex employee‑relations matters across multiple jurisdictions.
- Fluent in business English (written and spoken).
- Self‑motivated, organised, accurate, confident, authentic, results‑oriented, open‑minded, enthusiastic and energetic.
- Willingness to travel up to four times a year for internal events.
Nice‑to‑have skills
- Experience with immigration policies and mobility processes.
- Professional HR qualification (CIPD/SHRM or equivalent).
- Facilitation skills.
