RESPONSIBILITIES
: We are looking for a student with experience in the mapping of EMS mutants to be incorporated to the team of the Plan Nacional project “Role of the E3 ligase COP1 in coordinating BR and GA signaling (COPBRA)”. Warm temperatures recover in darkness the dwarf phenotype of cop1-6 mutants and we have isolated several M2 seedlings that abolish this thermosensitive response or that promotes it in the light. He/she will backcross these mutants with cop1-6 and segregate those seedlings in cop1-6 or mutant pools, to map these mutations by sequencing. Will in addition be responsible to validate the candidate genes and characterize the phenotype of these mutants and how it relates with COP1 E3 ligase activity.
These tasks are included within the framework of the project COPBRA, aimed at understanding the control of thermal elongation towards the generation of new climate change resilient genotypes, with code PID2023-153382OB-I00 “Role of the E3 ligase COP1 in coordinating BR and GA signaling”.
REQUIREMENTS:
Educational requirements: master in Biology or equivalent.
Skills: The candidate shall be familiarized with mapping of EMS mutants.
Experience: Previous experience in salt stress and responses to ambient temperature will be positively assessed.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Contract Duration: 9 months
Hours/week: Full-time
