Position Overview
The Senior Underwriter collaborates with Account Management and Business Development teams to build and maintain broker relationships, aiming for profitable growth. The role focuses on developing partnerships with brokers, securing profitable renewals, and generating new business within our strategy, processes, and risk appetite.
Key Responsibilities
* Review complex or specialist cases, articulate propositions clearly internally and externally, and deliver timely underwriting decisions to secure profitable new and renewal business within authority levels and risk appetite.
* Collaborate with Account Managers to develop segment and local business plans, identifying opportunities for new business and acting as a unified team.
* Manage and develop a portfolio of accounts to maximize revenue from new and existing business, including reviewing current accounts and following up on new opportunities.
* Utilize all relevant information sources to meet broker and client needs, building long-term relationships to generate and close new, up-sell, and cross-sell opportunities.
* Negotiate and communicate underwriting decisions effectively, adhering to processes and regulatory requirements.
* Work with Account Managers and team members to resolve broker and client complaints promptly, maintaining relationship quality and continuity.
