POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Supplier Analyst is responsible for the strategic oversight, performance health, and operational excellence of a diverse portfolio of 200 suppliers. This role mirrors the responsibilities of a Supplier Manager but emphasizes scalable data analysis and risk-based prioritization to manage a high-volume vendor base efficiently. The Supplier Analyst acts as a critical link between Category Management and Business Units in conjunction with Supplier Technicians, ensuring that all 200 suppliers align with global strategies and compliance standards.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Using a combination of the defined Supplier Plans provided by the Category Management team, structured processes and scorecards available as well as inputs and escalations received from various internal stakeholders, the Supplier Analyst is accountable for.
Supplier Strategy Planning & Execution
1. Manage day-to-day oversight of the supplier portfolio across assigned category
2. Analyze spending and performance data across the supplier portfolio to support Supplier Managers and Category Management in developing high-level Supplier Plans and segmentation as necessary
3. Review trends and make recommendations to the business for opportunities to consolidate spend
4. Coordinate targeted development activities, collaborating with Supplier Technicians where required
5. Ensure a baseline of compliance on contractual agreements and supplier specific terms in alignment with Flowserve policies and procedures
6. Schedule and lead supplier engagements and business reviews based on KPI compliance
7. Monitor supplier capacity, lead times, and service levels to ensure business continuity
8. Escalate performance or risk concerns to Supplier Technicians as appropriate
Supplier Health Management
9. Manage supplier relationships with oversight into overall performance, and targeted improvement activities for the designated portfolio of suppliers
10. Monitor and action supplier performance around competitiveness, delivery, quality, and cost
11. Collaborate with Supplier Technicians to manage supplier risk, addressing and mitigating high risk criteria – including maintenance of risk elements in the SC Risk App for highest-risk suppliers within the portfolio
12. Coordinate with suppliers any escalations and risks raised through the appropriate escalation channels
13. Maintain open communication channels and accurate master data for the portfolio of suppliers through engagements and stakeholder identification
14. Analyze aggregate supplier load versus business needs, identifying potential bottlenecks across the portfolio suppliers and proposing alternative sourcing options.
Operational Support
15. Coordinate with site or business unit leadership on solving routine issues, and escalating risk through the appropriate escalation channels
16. Support issue resolution by gathering data, facilitating communication between suppliers and internal stakeholders, and coordinating with Supplier Technicians and Category Management
17. Business continuity and supplier responsiveness by focusing on high-impact suppliers within the portfolio
18. Ensure consistent governance across multiple business units utilizing shared suppliers by maintaining visibility to performance, contractual terms, and service expectations
19. Consolidate escalations from MORs, targeting actions for the defined supplier ecosystem
MAIN OBJECTIVES
Pertained to the assigned Suppliers to manage;
20. Execute the Supplier Plan based on supplier strategy
21. Coordinate data-driven activities in conjunction with Supplier Technicians
22. Supplier Ecosystem Performance & drive mitigating actions where required
23. Ensure Baseline Contractual Coverage and Contract Compliance
24. Supplier Risk Assessments, prioritize critical suppliers and maintain baseline monitoring of ecosystem
25. Spend Consolidation based on supplier strategic approach analysis
26. Escalation Coordination & Resolution for identified high-risk suppliers
ORGANIZATION CHART
27. The position shall report to the Regional Supplier Management Leader
28. The position shall matrix report to the associated Category Director, and if applicable, Divisional Supply Chain Director
29. The position has no direct reports
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
30. 2+ years of experience in Supply Chain
31. Strong interpersonal, stakeholder collaboration & relationship management
32. Evidenced understanding of both commercial and technical areas of supply chain
33. Very strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
34. Proficiency in Project Management
35. Knowledge of supply base within the category area of operation
36. Understanding of market dynamics
37. Strong analytical skills which involve collecting, analyzing and interpreting data
38. Certified Supply Chain Professional
39. Geographically mobile for engagement opportunities
40. Ability to influence, communicate, and collaborate at all organizational levels
