What will you do?
* Design, develop, and maintain automation architectures for pharmaceutical plants (drug manufacturing machines, packaging lines, etc.).
* Manage the software development of automation systems (PLC, SCADA, HMI, supervision systems and data monitoring cockpits).
* Analyze and define communication protocols between machines and systems (PLC–SCADA–MES/IT), ensuring end‐to‐end integration.
* Coordinate with different departments (IT, production, quality, maintenance, process engineering) to ensure technical and functional alignment.
* Support commissioning, start‐up and performance optimization of automated lines.
* Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards (GMP, GAMP, FDA/EMA, pharma;
food & beverage is a plus).
* Prepare and maintain technical documentation (functional specifications, FAT/SAT, IQ/OQ, operating manuals).
* Act as a technical reference / team leader on automation projects, supporting colleagues and stakeholders.
What do we require?
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics or similar.
* 5–10 years of experience as an Automation Engineer in the pharmaceutical industry (alternatively food & beverage or other highly regulated sectors).
* Strong knowledge of PLC, SCADA, HMI/data monitoring cockpits and main industrial communication protocols (e.G. OPC UA, Modbus, Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, etc.).
* Hands‐on experience programming automation languages (e.G. IEC 61131‐3: Ladder, Structured Text, Function Block Diagram;
additional IT languagesare a plus).
* Availability to work full remote from Spain (no regular travel required).
* Fluent English (C2) and Spanish (C2);
any additional languageis a plus.
