Design and Technical Office Manager
in the Philippines.
Mission:
The Design and Technical Office Manager will lead the design coordination and technical office functions on-site, ensuring consistency between design intent, quantities, execution strategies, and contract obligations.
Key Responsibilities: Manage and coordinate the technical office team (design coordination, quantities, drawings, BIM/CAD, documentation). Analyze IFC (Issued for Construction) documentation and track all design updates and changes. Calculate and validate quantities based on project-specific criteria and actual site conditions. Maintain up-to-date records of all technical changes and non-conformities that could lead to claims or contractual impacts. Support the project team in preparing technical justifications for variations and claims to be presented to the Engineer. Interface with design consultants, construction teams, and JV partners to ensure alignment of technical solutions with construction execution. Monitor the compliance of the design and documentation with local standards and project specifications. MSc Civil Engineer, preferably with specialization in Foundations and Structures. One of the positions must have a specialization in marine works. 15+ years of experience
in design management or technical office roles in large-scale infrastructure projects. Strong knowledge of quantity take-off processes, measurement rules, and valuation methodologies. Experience analyzing IFC documentation and maintaining a traceable record of changes and design updates. Solid understanding of FIDIC or similar contract frameworks related to claims and variations. Skilled in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and preferably in BIM tools (e.g., Revit, Navisworks) or cost management systems. High attention to detail, critical thinking, and excellent technical documentation skills. Prior experience in joint ventures or international projects is an advantage. Willingness to be based full-time in a remote location under rotation or long-term assignment.
