What are we looking for?
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Accreditation Program Lead to join our team during a critical stage of growth. The ideal candidate will bring solid experience in the development, management, and completion of ISO/IEC 17021-1:
2015 accreditation programs with IAF accreditation entities, as well as in the execution and oversight of requirements of that and other Management System Certification standards (ISO 42006, ISO 27006-1 and ISO 27006-2) as certification manager. This role is key to the development of our core value proposition:
accredited audit and certification services to companies executing Information Security, Data Privacy, or Artificial Intelligence Management Systems.
Key Responsibilities
Governance and System Management
* Ensure that Zertia’s management system for accreditation is implemented, maintained, and continually improved by ISO standards and the requirements of relevant accreditation bodies.
* Ensure full adherence to Zertia’s internal procedures and the responsibilities of the Certification Manager, including (but not limited to):
internal audits, coordination of auditors, nonconformities and corrective actions, complaints and appeals, competency evaluations, audit report reviews, and certification decisions.
* Establish and oversee the annual internal audit program, including the assignment of audit teams, follow-up on findings, and compliance with the internal audit procedure.
* Ensure that certification activities are performed impartially, in continuous communication with Zertia’s Impartiality Committee.
Accreditation Relations and Compliance
* Manage accreditation applications and coordinate programs with accreditation bodies (ANAB, UKAS, ENAC, RvA, etc.) in line with Zertia’s strategic roadmap.
* Communicate relevant changes to accreditation bodies as required by applicable standards.
* Build and maintain constructive relationships with main accreditation entities in the geographies where Zertia operates.
Certification Oversight
* Oversee pre-certification and audit activities and support delivery teams as needed.
* Communicate internally any updates related to certification standards, regulatory frameworks, or procedural changes.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of assigned certification standards and provide documented evidence of relevant qualifications and competencies.
Team Support and Development
* Assist in the onboarding of new team members.
* Support the training and competency development of team members involved in certification activities.
* Review and approve communication materials and website content related to certification, as needed.
* Attend virtual and on-site meetings related to certification, audits, or accreditation.
Job Requirements
* University degree (bachelor’s or equivalent) in Engineering, Economics, Law, Science, Management, or a related field.
* 4 years of professional experience with conformity assessments as a certification manager or lead assessor to accreditation bodies or equivalent.
* Demonstrable training and experience in ISO 17021-1, ISO 27001, and/or ISO 42001 or other conformity assessment standards.
* AI Regulation:
Knowledge of AI regulations, particularly the EU AI Act and similar regulations in the United States and the United Kingdom.
* Basic knowledge of technology, privacy, and/or AI management standards, tools, and methods.
* Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences. Other languages (like Spanish) will be valued.
* Proactivity and Autonomy:
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, proactively identifying and resolving information management-related issues.
* Collaboration:
Demonstrated ability to navigate and build relationships with third parties.
