Job Summary
Additive Manufacturing Engineer to support the ATCs (Advanced Technical Consultants) organization in advancing production applications on HP MJF platforms. The role focuses on hands-on technical execution, including design for additive manufacturing (DfAM), process optimization, cost-per-part analysis, and support of customer production ramp-ups.
This position requires a strong engineering foundation and the ability to independently execute technical workstreams within defined project scopes, contributing to scalable, production-ready additive manufacturing solutions.
Responsibilities
- Support industrialization of production applications (MJF).
- Perform DfAM reviews and mechanical redesign for additive manufacturing.
- Execute cost-per-part (TCO) and productivity analyses.
- Optimize build preparation, nesting strategies and print parameters.
- Support customer ramp-ups and technical troubleshooting activities.
- Analyze dimensional and mechanical performance; conduct root cause analysis.
- Contribute to workflow automation and process efficiency improvements.
- Document technical findings and best practices.
Education & Experience Recommended
- Master’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
- 4–8 years of experience in industrial Additive Manufacturing.
- Proven experience in Powder Bed Fusion technologies (MJF/SLS preferred).
- Experience working in production environments (beyond prototyping).
Preferred Certifications
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification (preferred).
- Exposure to Project Management methodologies (Agile/Scrum is a plus).
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong DfAM and mechanical design expertise.
- Advanced CAD proficiency (NX, SolidWorks, Creo or equivalent).
- Understanding of AM process parameters and powder strategies.
- Data-driven mindset (Excel, BI tools, statistical analysis).
- Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilities.
- Fluent English.
