Role OverviewWe are looking for a commercially sharp, results‐driven Business Development Manager to lead new business across Western Australia, the Northern Territory and South Australia. This newly created role offers a genuine opportunity to shape a territory from the ground up.
Responsibilities
Build and convert new commercial opportunities across mining and resources sectors in WA, NT and SA.
Conduct site visits to understand operational environments, risk profiles and equipment needs.
Prepare and present accurate technical and commercial proposals aligned to customer expectations.
Capture and relay customer feedback to identify product improvement opportunities.
Ensure seamless handover from sale to delivery and maintain visibility across the build lifecycle.
Drive vehicle sales opportunities in close partnership with the Business Manager – from initial prospect through to order.
Drive equipment sales opportunities in close partnership with the Equipment Sales Manager – PPC, hoses, fittings and ancillary fire equipment.
Manage negotiations within pricing frameworks and margin targets.
Support the Business Manager on major account visits, technical presentations and tender responses.
Maintain disciplined pipeline management and provide weekly CRM reporting.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years' proven business development success in mining, emergency services, heavy equipment, industrial or government sectors.
Proactive, opportunity‐led mindset – spot gaps others miss and move decisively to convert them.
Strong pipeline discipline and CRM rigour.
Ability to build and sustain trusted relationships with senior operational and procurement stakeholders.
Strong commercial acumen – understand margins, read proposals and negotiate with credibility.
Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills across technical and commercial contexts.
Current driver's licence and willingness to travel regularly across the region.
