Job Summary
The Data Center Critical Facilities Engineer IV is a skilled specialist working on assignments requiring considerable judgment. They have a substantial understanding of the job and handle moderately difficult tasks, using their knowledge of standard operating procedures. They support the overall team.
Responsibilities
Facility / Infrastructure Maintenance
* Performs moderately difficult preventative and corrective maintenance checks on-site to facility components.
* Performs repairs, maintenance, installations, and on-site inspections to facility systems. Supports energy efficiency measures.
* Monitors the Building Monitoring System (BMS) and resolves alarm issues that require judgment while following standard procedures.
Vendor Support
1. Supports the work approval process for service providers on maintenance work, including briefing at the start, monitoring during the work, and final review, ensuring activities comply with standards.
2. Supports modifications to technical files for plants and equipment in cooperation with vendors, ensuring files are up-to-date.
Site Administration & Incident Support
3. Maintains site logs for permits, such as Maintenance Operation Protocols (MOPs) and scripts.
4. Identifies Single Points of Failure (SPOFs) and recommends solutions.
5. Responds to all moderately difficult incidents on-site, including failures and delays.
Work Orders & Additional Projects
6. Completes routine work requests and circuit installations.
7. Troubleshoots and maintains office and auxiliary equipment to minimize downtime.
8. Makes minor modifications to mechanical, electrical, and specialized systems as directed.
Collaboration
9. Collaborates with others to resolve facility incidents.
10. Mentors team members on maintenance activities.
11. Provides inventory needs to maintain optimal stock levels of critical parts and equipment.
Qualifications
12. Proven experience working in a critical facility; data center experience preferred.
13. Higher National Diploma / Certificate (BTEC).
14. Strong troubleshooting skills and natural curiosity.
