As Operations Lead/Supervisor, you will experience how the various parts of the operation work together and contribute to a smooth flow. You serve as the first point of contact for team members during their shift, helping them follow processes introduced by your managers. You will gain hands‑on experience and use analytical systems that drive our company’s success.
Key Responsibilities
* Measure and monitor workflow, track performance at the site, and provide critical shift information to shift or area managers to enable shift‑cross Operational Excellence.
* Support and train employees so they can perform at a high level, and oversee their day‑to‑day tasks.
* Assist the Shift/Area Manager with process‑improvement projects, promote a safe working environment, and increase employee engagement.
* Collaborate with other departments to solve frequent problems or meet key area performance needs.
* Use data analytics to identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
A Day in the Life
* Work at one of our operating locations and support your Shift/Area Manager with shift planning.
* Assist with preparing shift meetings and monitor procedures and processes to ensure safety rules, quality processes, and daily priorities are followed.
* Escalate problems you notice to your Manager.
* Occasionally act as a Shift Manager and provide staff the direction needed to complete their tasks.
* Support shift scheduling and ensure enough team members are scheduled during peak times.
About the Team
The Amazon Logistics (AMZL) department is responsible for “last‑mile logistics” — delivering our packages in partnership with third parties. We think creatively and implement continuous improvement initiatives to deliver millions of physical products to our customers. Our goal is to make the delivery experience for our customers as seamless as possible and to introduce global delivery solutions for our newest offerings, including Amazon Fresh, Prime Now, and Amazon Restaurants.
The operations team prepares millions of products for shipment to our delivery crews. The team is people‑oriented and helpful, especially because many of our employees work overnight. We focus primarily on the operational side of things, and most of our locations operate 24/7.
Our field team partners with Amazon Flex, a contractor network for delivery. Every year we set new standards in customer experience and launch new, innovative delivery services. We are looking for new ways to overcome industry‑wide logistics challenges and reduce our CO₂ footprint. A fleet of innovative vehicles, including electric vehicles, and cutting‑edge technology support us.
Qualifications
* Advanced German speaking and writing skills.
* Experience working with data analytics and applying it to problem detection.
* Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional setting.
* Stakeholder‑management experience, including building and maintaining professional relationships.
* Experience working in an operations environment, e.g., logistics, retail, hospitality, or customer service.
* Advanced English proficiency.
