Overview
NipponGases is a leading company in the industrial and medical gases business in Europe, serving over 150,000 customers and 350,000 patients across 13 countries. We offer a wide range of gas-based solutions for sectors including healthcare, food, electronics, manufacturing, chemicals, and energy.
The Senior European Controller will be based at our European headquarters in Madrid, reporting directly to the European CFO. The European Holding of Nippon Gases Europe oversees the development of various European regions. To support our growth, we are seeking an experienced Controller with excellent critical thinking skills, capable of quickly analyzing information, identifying patterns, making sound decisions, and developing innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Monitor financial closing activities and analyze business development.
* Support accounting and tax assessments.
* Promote and develop the consolidation tool (FCCS).
* Collaborate with internal and external auditors.
* Support strategic initiatives such as M&A, system implementations, and process improvements.
Job Requirements
Background :
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
* Fluency in English and Spanish; additional languages are a plus.
* Over 15 years of experience, including at least 6 years in Big Four auditing.
* Experience with FCCS / PBCS or Hyperion (HFM).
* Occasional travel may be required.
Preferred Qualifications :
* Master’s degree or MBA.
* Certified Public Accountant (CPA / ACCA / ACA).
* Prior industry experience.
Required Skills :
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficient in Excel; experience automating processes in FCCS / PBCS.
* Strong critical thinking and data-driven decision-making skills.
* Ability to develop innovative solutions supporting company growth.
* Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, self-motivated, and team-oriented.
* Ability to work independently and adapt to changing needs.
