As the Director of Sales & Marketing of Grand Hyatt Barcelona, you will help maximize the total hotel revenue potential across MICE business, corporate negotiated business and luxury leisure.

Main Duties
Operational
* Working closely with the Hotel Director and Revenue Director to develop and implement strategies to maximize business opportunities.
* New business research, solicitation, prospecting, and acquisition will be a large part of this role.
* Maximize segmentation mix and develop business from existing Hyatt channels while creating new business development opportunities.
* Demonstrate a proactive approach to sales and be a dynamic sales professional who will positively impact our business and clearly understand the Grand Hyatt brand.
* Manage strong relationships with senior decision‑makers from key leisure, PCO’s, corporate accounts and travel agents.
* Building and maintaining strong relationships across internal and external clients, and other market and industry sources.
* Nurture and develop the sales & events team supporting them to reach their respective revenue targets.
* Measure, interpret, prioritize and evaluate the effectiveness of acquisition activities and re‑evaluate programs on an ongoing basis to achieve or exceed the objectives outlined in the Annual Business Plan.
* Maintain a perpetual analysis of key accounts in the Barcelona market and possess thorough knowledge of competitive marketing, business strategies in the Barcelona market and of competitive cities and destinations outside Barcelona for specific business segments.
* Assist the DOR in maintaining accurate forecasting procedures to enable Operating Departments to adjust their operation and cost structure.
* Work closely with ADOS on action plans to ensure that group pace and strategies are formulated to fill gaps and achieve long‑term business growth.
* Ensure a high level of exposure for the hotel through direct sales solicitation, telephone contact and written communication.
Financial
* Assist the Hotel Director in establishing an annual operating budget, which will form part of the hotel’s annual business plan.
* Establish, in conjunction with the Hotel Director, Marketing Communications Director and Director of Revenue, an annual business plan with measurable objectives, strategies and action plans to achieve revenue and profit targets as outlined in the Annual Business Plan.
* Set, in conjunction with the ADOS, individual sales and volume targets for all Sales Department Employees, track and review production monthly with each individual to achieve and exceed own targets.
Employee Handling
* Lead and mentor a strong and disciplined sales team.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills, relationship management and networking abilities.
* Conduct yearly performance appraisals and give employees regular feedback on their job performance.
Qualifications
* Minimum 2 years work experience as Associate Director of Sales.
* Previous minimum 10 years experience in a 5‑star hotel environment.
* Strong follow‑up and time management skills.
* Good understanding of selling techniques and marketing approaches.
* Well‑developed computer skills particularly in the use of MS Office, email, Lanyon/Agency360.
* Knowledge of Envision and Reserve software is a plus.
* Strong leadership skills.
* A self‑starter who is highly driven and solutions‑oriented.
