SR2 has recently started supporting an international IPP who are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage (BESS) projects (20MW+) across Spain.
You will take full ownership from late-stage development through construction and commissioning, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
This is a high-impact role within a fast-growing renewables platform, operating at the forefront of Spain’s energy transition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end execution of Solar PV and BESS projects from Ready-to-Build (RtB) through to COD
- Manage EPC contractors, technical advisors, and key suppliers
- Oversee project scheduling, budgeting, and risk management
- Coordinate with internal teams across development, grid, engineering, finance, and asset management
- Ensure compliance with Spanish regulatory, permitting, and grid connection requirements
- Manage grid connection and energisation processes in collaboration with utilities and TSOs/DSOs
- Monitor construction progress, conduct site visits, and ensure adherence to HSE standards
- Lead stakeholder engagement, including local authorities, landowners, and partners
- Drive resolution of technical and commercial issues during execution
- Support handover to O&M;/Asset Management teams
Requirements:
- Proven experience managing utility-scale Solar PV projects (20MW+) in Spain
- Experience with BESS projects (design, integration, or delivery) highly desirable
- Strong understanding of EPC contracts (FIDIC or similar)
- Knowledge of Spanish grid connection processes and regulatory frameworks
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams
- Engineering degree (Electrical, Civil, or related field preferred)
- Fluent Spanish and English (essential)
- Willingness to travel across xcskxlj project sites in Spain
Desirable Skills:
- Experience working with IPP, developer, or EPC environments
- Familiarity with energy storage integration, hybrid plants, or co-location strategies
- Strong commercial acumen and contract negotiation experience
- PMP or equivalent project management certification
