End-to-end project lead responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing a brand-new ServiceNow greenfield implementation project. Owns project and successful go-live of the fully configured ServiceNow instance, ensuring alignment with business objectives, IT governance, and ServiceNow product standards. Acts as the single point of accountability for all project deliverables and cross-functional team coordination.
Key Responsibilities 1. Project Planning & Governance (Greenfield-Specific)
Develop a detailed, greenfield-focused project charter, scope statement, work breakdown structure (WBS), project schedule, budget, and resource plan tailored to building a new ServiceNow instance from zero configuration.
Define project governance framework, including steering committee meetings, decision-making protocols, change control processes, and milestone tracking for live support.
Collaborate with executive stakeholders to align project goals with organizational IT strategy, service desk transformation goals, and compliance requirements (ITIL, SOX, GDPR, industry-specific regulations).
2. Cross-Functional Team Leadership & Resource Management
Lead and coordinate a cross-functional team including technical architects, business analysts, QA testers, IT support teams, end-user subject matter experts (SMEs), and vendor/ServiceNow partner resources.
Manage resource allocation, workload balancing, and performance tracking for all project team members, ensuring accountability for greenfield build and facilitate daily standups, weekly progress meetings, and phase gate reviews to resolve roadblocks, align on priorities, and keep the project on schedule and budget.
Liaise with external ServiceNow implementation partners/vendors to manage deliverables, SLAs, and technical support for platform configuration and licensing.
Enforce strict scope control for the greenfield implementation; manage all change requests via formal change management processes to prevent scope creep and budget overruns.
Identify, assess, and mitigate project-specific risks (e.g., configuration delays, stakeholder misalignment, user resistance, licensing gaps, technical integration roadblocks) and develop contingency plans for high-priority risks.
Proactively resolve project issues, elevate critical risks/delays to executive stakeholders, and implement corrective actions to keep the project on track.
4. Stakeholder Communication & Reporting
Serve as the primary point of contact for executive sponsors, business leaders, IT teams, and end-users throughout the greenfield implementation.
Provide regular, transparent project status reports (weekly/monthly) including progress against milestones, budget usage, risk updates, and deliverable status.
Conduct stakeholder workshops to gather feedback, align on design decisions, and secure sign‑off for critical project phases (design freeze, UAT completion).
5. Testing, Deployment & Post-Go-Live Oversight
Oversee user acceptance testing (UAT), integration testing, and performance testing for the new ServiceNow instance, ensuring all configured modules meet business requirements.
Plan and execute the production go-live strategy, including cutover planning, data validation (for initial master data load), and hypercare support post-deployment.
Monitor post-go-live platform performance, user adoption, and issue resolution; coordinate closure of project punch lists and final project handover to IT support teams, budget reconciliation, and project sign-off from stakeholders.
