Job Summary
The Corporate IT Matter Subject Expert for Systems is part of the team of engineers focused on Systems technologies within the Corporate Systems team. The role drives the implementation, operation and improvement of the systems tech stack and practices, including compute, storage, identity and security, with a focus on reliability, scalability and efficiency of corporate compute. Collaborates with Technology, Corporate and Platform teams to align on the Corporate IT compute system, building and running reliable, scalable and secure compute capabilities while fostering collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
* Be a part of the Corporate IT Systems team, delivering high-quality results and meeting service targets.
* Collaborate with the Corporate Systems Lead and other technology platform teams to align on the corporate IT roadmap and strategy.
* Drive strategic compute initiatives across on‑premises and cloud compute, storage, identity and security, meeting delivery deadlines.
* Apply best practices, standardize and automate processes, and ensure effective provisioning of computing services with monitoring and troubleshooting.
* Provide technical support to troubleshoot and resolve computing services issues;
act as escalation pointfor complex challenges and ensure minimal operational impact.
* Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies;
evaluate and recommend adoption of new tools and methodologies aligned with company goals.
* Contribute to a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement;
participate in knowledge sharing and learning opportunities.
* Participate in discussions and decision-making regarding the overall corporate IT architecture and direction.
Position dimensions
* Customer base:
Internal Hotelbeds employees who leverage compute capabilities, storage, identity and security services globally.
* Geographical scope:
Global responsibility for Corporate IT compute services;
team primarily in Palmade Mallorca with hybrid setup in Spain and expansion across Europe as needed.
* Financial target:
Corporate IT budget controls global compute assets and services across the organization.
* Level of contribution:
Ensure computing capabilities to run HBX Group systems for internal users.
Key stakeholders
* Report to the Corporate Systems Lead with regular alignment with technology platform teams.
* Interact with Corporate IT teams and other technology groups to deliver aligned requirements, priorities, deliverables and service levels.
Position requirements
* Interpersonal skills with high-quality written and verbal communication.
* Strong analytical and conceptual abilities.
* Fluent in English and Spanish.
* Strong knowledge of systems technologies, including cloud and on-premises deployment and configuration (MS servers, Azure, Directory Services, Email Services, etc.), load balancing, services, storage management and backup policies.
* Permanent position (no freelance or contingent model).
Experience
* Minimum of 5 years in similar or related tech systems engineer roles.
* Experience in IT Operations or similar technology functions.
* Strong technology background.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field;
master’s degree a plus.
* MS systems certifications are required (e.G., AZ-104).
* Extensive experience with Azure-based cloud systems (IaaS, etc.).
* Experience with AD, Exchange, O365, ADFS, GPO and SSO systems.
* Knowledge of system security, storage, and data backup/recovery.
* Experience with MS platforms (Windows 7/8/10).
* Familiarity with network topologies and TCP/IP protocols.
* IT Operations framework and Agile certifications are highly desirable.
