JOB DESCRIPTION: Purpose:
The role, with an important Fintech component, is a key part of the Legal team, managing and advising on risk and legal liability for the group, a Travel Tech Company, to support our growth plans. The role involves assisting the Fintech / Insurtech Team with setting up and implementing initiatives according to the roadmap, ensuring strategic project development. It also includes advising on day-to-day business decisions, reviewing contracts from a commercial and regulatory perspective, providing preventive legal counsel, and monitoring legal risks.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
1. Legal assistance: Support the Fintech / Insurtech Team on risks from new initiatives, monitoring regulations impacting HBX activities.
2. Business advice: Guide the team on daily decisions, review contracts focusing on regulatory compliance, and provide preventive legal advice.
3. Coordination: Work with other functions (Tax, Compliance, HR, IT Security) to provide aligned advice.
4. Process improvement: Reshape current workflows, improve and simplify guidelines, and design scalable protocols with stakeholders.
Skills: Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish is desirable. Excellent organizational and analytical skills, ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines. Risk management, negotiation skills, attention to detail, autonomy, cross-functional issue resolution, teamwork, flexibility, and adaptability.
Experience: Minimum 6 years in similar roles, experience as in-house counsel in a multinational, dealing with Fintech matters preferred. Experience in a Fintech law firm is a plus. Multicultural environment experience is valued.
Qualifications: Law degree from a reputable institution; specialization in Fintech Law is desirable. Experience in Legal Fintech and Data Protection is preferred.
