Sanoma Learning’s NPM train is on the lookout for a BackEnd developer to join our vibrant, international team. We’re a group of enthusiastic, friendly, and talented individuals dedicated to revolutionizing primary education. As a BackEnd developer, you’ll play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of our platform for primary education, used by tens of thousands of teachers and students. We offer two work models: hybrid (3 days from home, 2 in the office) or remote with occasional visits to our Barcelona office. Key tasks of a Tech Lead:
• Guide development teams on best practices, coding standards, and architectural decisions;
• Governance: Actively participate in the Tech Lead Forum, facilitating communication and collaboration between Architecture and DevOps teams;
• Innovate: Working on Proof-of-Concepts to assess new technologies, tools and techniques that could benefit both architectural goals and Engineering processes, and in the end, SL's customers.
• Cross-team collaboration: with the Architecture Office, with other CLS and non-CLS DevOps teams, with Product Management, etc.;
• Mentorship: Grow the maturity of the DevOps teams by identifying and addressing knowledge or skill gaps;
• 12, FastApi, and Php 8+ and Larabel 9+ for the Backend.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and Service Engineers to identify areas for improvement in system architecture, performance, and maintainability.
Optimize application performance, ensuring scalability and responsiveness.
Work with Docker and Kubernetes (K8s) to deploy, manage, and monitor microservices-based applications.
Strong knowledge in AWS Infrastructure.
Work with databases ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval using MongoDB and MySQL.
Follow best practices in CI/CD (Bamboo and Bitbucket Pipelines), DevOps, and cloud-native development.
Conduct code reviews, write unit and integration tests, and improve overall code quality.
BACKEND Development:
12, FastApi, Php 8+, Larabel 9+and async/reactive programming in general.
Strong knowledge in AWS Infrastructure.
DATABASE & STORAGE:
~ Experience with relational and non relational databases.
DevOps & CLOUD:
Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (K8s) for containerized application deployment.
Experience with AWS.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Bitbucket).
BEST PRACTICES & AGILE:
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Strong understanding of software design patterns and SOLID principles.
LANGUAGES: both spanish and english spokne an writen fluently.
