RF HW Compliance Engineer, Hardware Compliance Team
An RF Compliance Engineer ensures that wireless devices and systems meet regulatory requirements for radio frequency (RF) emissions and performance. This involves a deep understanding of RF systems, testing methodologies, and international regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage product certification processes from planning to completion across multiple international markets (US, EU, Asia, etc.)
Develop comprehensive certification plans and timelines aligned with product launch schedules
Review and interpret regulatory requirements from various certification bodies (FCC, CE, ISED, MIC, etc.) to ensure product compliance
Coordinate with external test labs for certification testing, including test scheduling, sample submission, and report reviews
Build and maintain relationships with key certification bodies and test labs to facilitate smooth certification processes
Manage certification budgets and track expenses across multiple projects
Partner with R&D teams during product development to ensure design compliance with regulatory requirements
Work closely with ODM/OEM partners to ensure manufacturing compliance and proper implementation of certification requirements
Create and maintain Technical Construction Files (TCF) and other regulatory documentation
Review Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) to assess impact on existing certifications
Provide regular status updates to stakeholders on certification progress and potential risks
Monitor and communicate regulatory requirement changes that may impact product development or certification
Support quality system requirements related to product compliance and certification
Manage and maintain certification tracking systems and documentation databases
Collaborate with legal team on compliance matters and certification requirements

Reviewing test results from global labs
Collaborating with hardware teams on design compliance
Drafting test plans for upcoming certifications
Meeting with Product Management to discuss market entry requirements
Analyzing test results and preparing compliance reports
Coordinating with external test labs and CMs
Updating regulatory documentation
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related technical field
7+ years of experience in regulatory compliance or certification management
Experience with international regulatory requirements (FCC, CE, ISED, MIC, etc.)
Experience in managing product certification processes

Lead global certification projects for new products, working closely with test labs and certification bodies worldwide.
Create detailed project schedules to track certification progress and align with product launch timelines.
Monitor and allocate certification budgets effectively.
Review international regulatory standards and develop compliance strategies accordingly.
Maintain updated knowledge of regulatory changes and assess their impact on current and future products.
Test Lab & Documentation Management
Build and maintain relationships with third‐party test labs, coordinating test schedules and sample submissions.
Review test plans to ensure they meet regulatory requirements and company standards.
Analyze test reports in detail and address any compliance issues identified.
Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation including test reports, compliance records, and technical construction files.
Implement efficient document control systems for easy access and audit readiness.
Cross‐functional Collaboration
Work alongside R&D teams during product development phases to ensure designs meet regulatory requirements.
Engage with Product Management to understand market‐specific requirements and launch timelines.
Consult with Legal team on compliance matters and potential regulatory risks.
Support Manufacturing teams in implementing compliance requirements in production.
Partner with ODM/OEM teams to ensure certification requirements are properly implemented in the manufacturing process.
Strategic Planning
Provide early input on regulatory requirements during new product planning phases.
Research and assess certification requirements for potential new markets.
Develop comprehensive certification timelines that align with product launch schedules.
Create detailed certification cost estimates for project budgeting.
Identify and mitigate potential certification risks early in the development cycle.
Quality Assurance
Monitor ongoing compliance of certified products through regular reviews and audits.
Evaluate engineering change requests to determine impact on existing certifications.
Review product labeling and user documentation for compliance with regulatory requirements.
Maintain and update compliance tracking systems to ensure continued certification validity.
Stakeholder Communication
Provide regular updates to project stakeholders on certification status and potential issues.
Develop clear communication channels for certification‐related matters.
Offer guidance on regulatory requirements to various business teams.
Create and present certification status reports for management review.
