Head of Computer Center (f / m / d) (future IT Services)
full-time, up to EG 14 TV-H, permanent contract

The Data Center department manages IT operations, digital services development, and overall IT strategy for the university. As Head of Data Center, you will:
* Implement IT strategy
* Manage IT infrastructure
* Lead a dedicated team
* Serve as the central contact for IT matters
* Advise university management on strategic IT issues
Main responsibilities include:
* Developing and implementing IT strategies in coordination with the CIO
* Expanding the IT service portfolio aligned with university needs
* Managing IT infrastructure and security concepts
* Overseeing budget, IT controlling, and resource optimization
* Managing a team of four, developing team structures and processes
* Handling escalation for 2nd level support
* Ensuring IT security, data backup, data protection, and emergency management
* Innovating operational procedures and security measures
* Planning and monitoring departmental goals
* Developing and overseeing service level agreements
* Managing IT projects collaboratively with the CIO and DTO
* Communicating proactively within the team and with external partners
Candidate profile:
* University degree in computer science or a related field (Master's or diploma)
* Alternatively, a Bachelor's or FH diploma with at least four years of IT experience
* Management experience in strategic and operational roles is advantageous
* Extensive knowledge in networks, Linux/Windows Server, cloud technologies, virtualization, IT security, and network infrastructure
* Experience managing IT projects and multiple projects
* Fluent in German and proficient in English
* Experience with university structures is a plus
* High initiative, analytical skills, service orientation, negotiation skills, responsibility, and strong communication skills
* Ability to work well in a team
