**MADRID IT Platform**
The CIB IT Platform for EMEA is responsible to provide IT Services to our Clients ensuring a Digital Market evolution, in a secured and performant environment, and with a reliable quality. This function includes General Markets Application Production, Local Territory IT Development, the Core Infrastructure environment including Datacentres, Application Production, Security, Architecture as well as elements of the Global Services organisation.
The “Data & Platform” Domain is part of the Corporate & Institutional Banking Information Technology & Operations (CIB ITO) of BNP PARIBAS, it is in charge to manage a key part of the infrastructure such the core of the servers, databases, storage, backup, middleware, citrix farms, and Virtualization infrastructure.
Within this domain, DBA-Sybase has a relevant role, as this component is part of our baseline and cover a large part of our databases scope.
- Main Activities
This position is focus in the Administration of Sybase databases in European scope contributing to ensure the DBA services provided to the business are stable, resilient and performant.
The DBA-Sybase team is responsible for production support of all Sybase databases in Paris and London. Support activities include:
- Monitoring and capacity management
- backup and recovery
- performance analysis
- new database/server architecture and builds
- general incident and service request resolution
- Change Management
Actively collaborate with technical peers to share experiences and needs, with the target being to collectively define solutions to enhance the stability or increase the performance of the services in scope.
Provide clear communication to the management team and when required or requested
Focus on enhancing his/her core skills sets, develop new ones and share the knowledge with other colleagues
To work following ITIL methodology is part of the daily basis in this and the rest of IT areas.
- Professional Knowledge & Expertise
**Essential**:
- Administration Sybase ASE
- Administration Sybase IQ
- 3 years’ experience working in an equivalent position
- Basic Linux administration
- Team and collaborative working to develop and deliver appropriate solutions skills.
- Experience of delivering strategic priorities within strict timelines.
- Customer service oriented skills.

- Languages & Qualifications
**LANGUAGES**
- High English spoken and written fluent (B2/C). Mandatory
- French spoken and written will be valued
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Degree in Computer Science preferable but no mandatory
- ITIL Foundation certification will be desirable

- On Site Services: From 7:00 to 19:30 schedule to cover in weekly shifts of 7,5 working hours/day
- On Call Services: Out of regular schedule, we provide On Call services 24/7 to be covered in weekly shifts by team members.
- BNPP is an international company, most of Spanish non-working days out of weekends are considered as business days, so they require support -but to be covered with a reduce number of staff-. These days and the OnCall support have specific compensation, in the same way that if it is required to work in a scheduled activity on weekend.
