The Position

Pharma Technical Development (PTD) is committed to delivering the pharma ambitions by bringing game-changing therapies from clinical phase I into the market to serve every patient, every day. Our core business is to develop safe, innovative, and effective drugs using cutting-edge technologies for manufacturing process development (Drug Substance and Drug Product), clinical supply, formulation, device, packaging, and analytical development.

The opportunity :

As Project Manager Packaging Technologies, you will work closely with technical experts in the Technology & Validation Team on packaging development and CAPEX project management, as well as with Engineering, Compliance, and Quality Assurance teams within Clinical Supply Packaging Operations (PTDS-O). You will play a key role by launching new packaging solutions, leading projects, and representing the operations perspective. Success in this role depends on strong collaboration with stakeholders, service providers, and suppliers, focusing on regional needs for PTDS Kaiseraugst, especially in supplying clinical trials with primary and secondary packaging.

Take full accountability for assigned projects in clinical supply operations, ensuring reliable and efficient clinical supply, completed on time and within budget. Coordinate with technical experts and determine necessary expertise for each project.

Evaluate process improvements, new technologies, and develop solutions that benefit the global clinical supply organization. Support or lead automation and digital transformation projects to enable a digital shop floor.

Develop strategies for end-of-life, predictive maintenance, calibration, and asset reliability.

Support packaging development improvements in line with customer, regulatory, and quality requirements, adhering to project timelines and budgets.

Coordinate packaging development activities between South San Francisco and Basel / Kaiseraugst, complying with internal and external guidelines.

Enhance packaging processes, increase productivity, reduce lead times, and align activities across functions to meet strategic goals. Ensure GMP-compliant creation of SOPs, test plans, and reports focusing on technical equipment and processes.

Continuously improve existing processes and documentation, maintaining the GMP lifecycle through change control and deviation management in VEEVA.

Who you are :

You hold a bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent, with at least 5 years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry, including 3 years in GMP-related disciplines. You have experience in cGMP manufacturing of small or large molecules or packaging.

You are positive, collaborative, and self-reflective, with strong communication skills.

You have experience with cGMP inspections by health authorities.

You enjoy working on-site and are interested in learning about our production facilities and processes.

High team capability, solution-oriented approach, strong service and customer focus, excellent communication skills in German and English, and proficiency with IT systems are essential.
