Position Title: Technical Sales Specialist, EMEA

PROFILE
The Technical Sales Specialist primary role is to create demand with growers/end users in the
field. He/she will help Acadian meet annual sales objectives by building strong relationships
with key crop advisors and distributor field technicians and or sales representatives to
demonstrate product benefits and return on grower investment. The Technical Sales Specialist
introduces and manages demo trials as well as works with Marketing team to build Territory
Plans in their regions. He/she will work with Technical, Marketing & Sales Departments in an
effort to educate end users/growers on the benefits associated with leveraging Acadian
technology as a component of their overall crop program.
RELATIONSHIPS
The Technical Sales Specialist reports to the Regional Commercial Vice President and works on a
daily basis with Marketing as they determine the priorities in any given territory. He/she also
has a close working relationship with the Regional Technical Manager in order to help with field
execution of the Research & Development program for different regions and applicable crop
focus. It is important for him/her to keep in close contact with the other Techno-Commercial
Specialists to learn and communicate successes or opportunities.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Uncover new business opportunities with growers for Acadian Technology.
• Support the sales team in EMEA with technical information on the Acadian product line, and managing the market development of our products.
Be aware of competitive activity to and ensure a plan is built to protect our market position.
• Work with EMEA colleagues to ensure alignment and deliver Acadian value proposition
• Conduct field days and participate in seminars to promote Acadian technology and its
benefits .
• Using proof, convince crop advisors and growers that Acadian technology adds value to
their overall programs.
• Provide formalized trial/evaluation results as it relates to product performance in your
territory.
• Organize and conduct local trial/evaluation plans to be included in the regional
development plan, according to the company’s direction.
• Assist in validating market information that is to be included in annual planning
• Assist the team to hit the collective sales objectives for the year.
• Support the company’s vision and policies regarding Health & Safety, Corporate Culture,
and Environmental Management by displaying the appropriate behaviors and leadership
towards meeting the company’s objectives in these areas.
EDUCATION/COMPETENCIES
• Agronomist degree, expertise in horticultural crops is an advantage.
• Specialization in plant physiology, plant nutrition and plant pathology preferred.
• 5 – 7 years’ experience in agricultural field;
• Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English. Fluency in Italian, Spanish or French is a strong plus.
