About the role
We are recruiting for a dynamic highly motivated professional to join us a Development and Application Chef, working as part of the Kerry Europe retail chef team and personally responsible for Southern Europe, focussed on delivering for Kerry & the customer.
Reporting to the RDA Executive Chef, you will be an integral part of the Southern Europe RD&A team, and working alongside the Commercial, Marketing and Customer teams on proactive product innovation and renovation by supporting the creation of exciting on-trend applications for our customers across multiple end uses: meals, soups, sauces, meats, plant protein and snacks.
The successful candidate will create food that shows how Kerry’s Ingredients can be combined through Taste and Nutrition to excite our customers and show how they can make consumer preferred products faster and at better value by working closely with us.
We combine our broad range of technologies and strengths in market and consumer insight to create food solutions that have a place in the market and meet consumer needs.

Key responsibilities
* Proactively create new and innovative concept ideas based on Kerry’s target technologies, customer needs and innovation driven by market insight.
* Build peer to peer relationships at target customers in Southern Europe and use these relationships to drive value for the customer and Kerry.
* Work closely with Kerry RD&A technologists to execute against customer briefs, using market and culinary knowledge. Ensure a clear concept to development process is in place and monitored with the Research, Development and Application (RD&A) technologists to ensure consistency and attention to detail.
* Bring chef and food insight into the business driven by a love of food and how food is made and sustainability.
* Build relationships across the Global Kerry chef network.
* Collaborate with the marketing teams to understand consumer trends and connect with commercial leads to ensure you are working on opportunities that will grow our business.
* Work collaboratively and close with stakeholders in Kerry Barcelona office; RDA, commercial, marketing, business development, etc.
* Ensure day-to-day maintenance, general good housekeeping practices of the laboratories, equipment, presentation & customer suites. Maintain health and safety standards.
* Prepare and execute creative product presentations for customers demonstrating a sound understanding of the Kerry’s technology capability, competitive advantages, ensuring that these concepts are aligned with the customer’s commercial reality.

* Implement strict positive release process across projects to bring consistency and high standards.
* Maintain awareness of competitors, the market and consumer trends.
* Being agile working outside the day-to-day responsibilities of the role when relevant to drive entrepreneurial business growth.
Qualifications and skills
* Further education in a culinary, food or chef environment
* Experience working as a Chef in restaurant industry.
* Good communication and presentation skills
* Innovative yet practical with a flair for creating food and challenging why we do what we do
* The ability to deliver with urgency and composure
* A high level of attention to detail and the highest quality standards
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work alone or within a multi-functional team
* A love of preparing and evaluating food
* A proactive, inquisitive and enquiring mind
