About us\nWe are a healthtech company specialized in the development of advanced robotic surgery systems for high-precision minimally invasive procedures
\n
. Founded in 2012 as a spin-off from UPC and IBEC, our mission is to make robot-assisted surgery more accessible, precise, and efficient worldwide. We are building next-generation surgical robotic platforms, and instrumentation is a critical part of our core technology.
\n
Your mission\nAs a Senior Systems / Test Engineer you will be responsible for defining, building and validating custom test benches used to characterize robotic surgical instruments. This is a key role inside our R&D; team, directly connected to product performance, safety and regulatory evidence.
\n
You will translate instrument requirements into test systems that allow us to understand, measure and validate real-world behaviour of robotic surgical tools, ensuring reliability in clinical use scenarios.
\n
Your main responsibilities Translate robotic surgical instrument requirements into test bench specifications Define and lead validation protocols for instrumentation (force, hysteresis, fatigue, offset, grasping performance, stiffness, distal vs proximal behaviour)
\n
Design, build and validate custom test rigs for robotic surgery systems (mechanical + instrumentation + calibration) Execute and analyse performance and reliability testing. Generate technical documentation for regulatory submissions in medical devices
\n
Ensure traceability, calibration control and continuous improvement of testing systems used in surgical robotics Act as a key link between design engineers and validation teams in iterative development cycles Support risk analysis with experimental data from testing
\n
What are we looking for? Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Biomedical Engineering or similar 5+ years of experience in V&V; / testing, ideally in robotic systems Strong hands-on experience with test benches or rigs (preferably in robotics or surgical systems)
\n
Solid understanding of mechanical testing, materials behaviour, fatigue and reliability Knowledge of ISO 13485 / ISO 14971 and validation processes (IQ/OQ/PQ) Experience with data analysis (Excel; Python or MATLAB is a plus)
\n
English professional level (technical documentation) Spanish native or fluent
\n
We are looking for someone who is…\nPrevious experience in robotic surgery, medical robotics or high-precision robotic systems\nHands-on, pragmatic and problem-solver by nature\nComfortable working in a fast-paced\nAble to connect mechanical design with experimental validation in complex robotic systems\nAnalytical, structured and detail-oriented
\n
Nice to have\nSensorised / hybrid robotic test benches\nMATLAB or Python for data analysis\nExposure to MDR / CE marking in medical devices\nIterative design–test–learn development environments
\n
What do we offer?\nFull-time permanent contract\nCompetitive salary aligned with experience\nFlexible working hours\nHighly innovative and regulated environment with real impact on patients’ lives\nStrong engineering culture inside a surgical robotics company developing real medical robotic systems
