Role Overview
The ICAP Euro Interest Swap (IRS) Desk is seeking a Junior Broker to join their team. This is an entry level role into the world of interdealer broking on one of the busiest desks in the global financial markets. The successful candidate will receive on the job training and exposure to the financial markets we operate within, namely Interest Rate Swaps. We are looking for a bright and enthusiastic individual that is able to work in a very fast moving, energised and dynamic environment and is able to think on their feet.
In this role, you will support senior brokers in executing trades, supporting client relationships, and delivering market insights. You will gain in-depth knowledge of IRS's, including their pricing, yield dynamics, and the macroeconomic factors influencing these instruments. This position offers a fast-paced, collaborative environment where you can build your expertise in financial markets while developing strong analytical, communication, and client-service skills.
We are keen to speak to individuals educated to degree level who are comfortable working with fast moving numbers. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of one of the prime institutional broking desks in financial services.
Role Responsibilities
* Promote TP ICAP Group.
* Provide complete support to the brokers for the smooth running of the desk.
* Identify trade opportunities and calculate strategies.
* Update real-time manual / electronic whiteboards with market data.
* Provide input on various projects for brokers and traders.
* Provide trade details to brokers and traders on a daily basis.
* Give live quotes to traders through the messaging systems.
* Monitor markets and follow financial news and developments.
* Understand the underlying products being traded and keep up to date with knowledge of new products and procedures.
* Liaise with clients (via telephone and face to face) to understand the business objectives of your clients as to provide a reliable and efficient broking service.
* Develop new business with existing clients and onboard new clients following the correct process with the Client On-Boarding team.
Experience / Competences
Essential
* Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
* Demonstrated understanding in the financial markets and the economy.
* Build relationships and networks with both internally and externally wherever possible.

* Hard working and willingness to learn.
* Good communication skills (written and verbal).
* Handles situations and problems effectively using own initiative.
Desired
* Existing right to work in Spain. i.e. EU passport holder.
* Any additional language in addition to English is a plus. Spanish would be highly advantageous, however this is an English speaking desk and while location benefits, it isn\'t essential.
* Can form and build relationships and networks with both internally and externally with ease.
* Demonstrates ability to work effectively with others.
