We are hiring an Executive Director, Business Development to join our Real World Evidence business development team within the Clinical Research Group of Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Purpose:

The Executive Director, Business Development leads business development representatives to secure and retain business for PPD through professional, consultative, proactive sales activities aimed at decision-makers and influencers at sponsors. The role focuses on positioning PPD as a primary or preferred provider for outsourced Evidera work, especially in Health Economics and Market Access, Patient-Centered Research, and Data Analytics.

Responsibilities include:

* Leading business development initiatives for the region/area; developing marketing strategies for growth.
* Mentoring staff to qualify deals, develop proposals, define solutions, and develop fees aligned with strategic goals.
* Developing, implementing, and communicating regional business development strategies.
* Gathering market data on trends, competitors, and pricing.

Goals: Accountable for BD team results with authorization targets ranging from $100 million to $500 million depending on the region/area.

Additional duties:

* Managing functional departments to meet goals and maintain client satisfaction.
* Establishing strategy in alignment with senior management.
* Developing relationships to influence decisions within and outside the company.
* Making decisions with long-term impact on assigned areas.

Qualifications:

Minimum Education & Experience:

* 15+ years of relevant experience.
* 10+ years of management responsibility with proven sales success in RWE, including international experience and account management.

Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

* Proven ability to develop high-level business contacts.
* Ability to manage cross-functional teams and expand relationships.
* Strong sales and negotiation skills in Health Economics, Outcomes Research, Market Access, Data Analytics, and Patient-Centered Research.
* Proficiency with sales automation tools, MS Office, and email.

Management Role: Experience managing large teams or multiple departments, demonstrating successful leadership.

Working Conditions:

* Office environment with electrical equipment.
* Up to 60% travel depending on activity and client needs.
