This Project Manager role is to bring an enterprise-wide, unified view of Novartis’ strategy across the RDC continuum and guide the companies’ planning and execution. Imagine the IT partnership opportunities you could bring!
This role will provide the Project Management needed to drive the technology roadmap for S&G, focusing on enabling decision-making in the function that directly drives the success of Novartis through more effective product roadmaps, market analysis, as well as evaluation for acquisitions.
The job purpose is to act as a project management lead, leading a team of project associates to deliver IT solutions. We are looking for an experienced individual in the S&G (Strategy & Growth) IT space to lead end-to-end delivery of solutions that re-define how Novartis operates.
About the Role
Major accountabilities:
* Managing the delivery of internal and outsourced projects from initiation to transition to operations.
* Engaging with global business leaders and leveraging appropriate IT teams and functions to determine requirements and deliver IT solutions to improve efficiency and generate value.
* Delivering projects on time, within budget, and meeting business objectives.
* Establishing plans and initiating project mobilization by confirming scope, estimates, resources, roles, and responsibilities.
* Ensuring appropriate use of project management methods and tools depending on the project type (e.g., Agile).
* Directing project team outputs, ensuring overall success and effective resource use. Monitoring and controlling project execution and establishing governance, managing risks and issues.
* Ensuring project compliance with Data privacy, Security, and Compliance policies, with an in-depth understanding of validation procedures in regulated environments.
* Engaging with user communities in the S&G space to identify high-priority areas, developing project rationale, and assessing project feasibility.
* University degree in Informatics, Computer Sciences, Life Sciences, or similar.
* A minimum of 10+ years of experience as a Program/Project Manager, with at least 5+ years in the Pharma or IT industry.
* Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across business, IT, and quality sectors.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Knowledge of or exposure to Drug Research, Development, or Commercialization portfolios is advantageous.
* Strong leadership, interpersonal, collaboration, influencing, negotiation, problem-solving skills, and stakeholder management.
* Robust project and program management skills, with knowledge of methodologies like ICE, PRINCE2, Agile, Waterfall, etc.
* Hands-on experience in driving Agile delivery.
* General understanding of current technologies, especially in data, and their application to enable business value.
* Experience working in a global, multicultural, and matrix environment. Experience in delivering GxP IT solutions is a plus.
