We are looking for a Data DevOps to join our Data Team in Sant Cugat del Valles. The Data DevOps is a new role in our Data team, pivotal for supporting our data transformation strategy. This role offers an opportunity to embed best practices into the DevOps domain while guiding a team on modern DevOps and Agile frameworks to revolutionize our technology delivery.
This position is ideal for a seasoned DevOps professional with exceptional leadership skills, capable of inspiring and empowering a team. You will play a strategic role in designing, building, and maintaining infrastructure and software to help the company grow and transform. The role is based in Barcelona (Sant Cugat) with hybrid working arrangements available.
Main Tasks
* Operate as a bridge between development, testing, network/infrastructure, operations, and system administrators to facilitate efficient, continuous, and high-quality software delivery.
* Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks to meet deadlines, and balance BAU activities.
* Promote a change in IT & Data culture by focusing on rapid delivery through agile, lean practices within a system-oriented approach.
* Establish dedicated platform teams to enable a scalable DevOps approach for rapid response.
* Implement automation tools to leverage a programmable and dynamic infrastructure across its lifecycle.
* Build, configure, and maintain frameworks, tools, and systems for optimal performance.
* Mature our software development lifecycle to produce high-quality, low-cost software quickly.
* Integrate with development, QA, network, cloud, and on-premise teams.
* Establish a DevOps Community of Practice to foster idea sharing and refinement.
* Implement frameworks to meet business and cybersecurity requirements.
Knowledge and Skills
Preferred Knowledge:
* Continuous Integration and Deployment principles and tooling
* Configuration Management practices
* Experience with Cloud Platforms (public/private)
* Operating Systems (Windows Server 2019+, Linux EL 6/7/8)
* Containerization platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, OpenShift)
* Database deployment and maintenance
* Understanding legacy infrastructures
Preferred Skills:
* Big-picture thinking and challenging conventions
* Leadership and negotiation skills
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Project management and Agile delivery understanding
* Collaborative, solution-oriented mindset
* Experience with AWS, Snowflake, Informatica ETL, and cloud architecture design
* Degree in Computer Science or related field + 7+ years in DevOps
* Experience working with global teams is a plus
Specific Knowledge
* Contemporary IT infrastructure engineering and management methodologies
* Strong Windows Server and Linux skills
* Experience with Kafka, Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes, and similar stacks
