About the role

The Field Marketing Specialist – Advanced Wound Care (AWC) is responsible for developing and executing the Spanish marketing action plan for a defined portfolio of AWC products, targeting both hospital and community care settings.

This role ensures alignment with overarching global and local strategies to drive brand performance and market penetration.

This position plays a pivotal role in shaping and implementing strategic plans, including the design and execution of local multi-channel marketing campaigns aimed at differentiating the portfolio in a highly competitive landscape. The Field Marketing Specialist is accountable for the commercial success of the assigned brands, leveraging market insights, creativity, and strategic thinking to drive growth and protect existing business from competitive threats.

Key duties and responsibilities

1.Marketing:

1. Achieve commercial objectives by implementing a successful marketing plan and initiatives.

2. Design and implement all relevant and critical marketing activities.

3. Partnership with AWC Global marketing and align the global with the local strategy.

4. New product launches.

2. Cross-functional Collaboration

5. Partner with the whole sales organization: National Sales Manager, RSM, sales representatives, Business Development Manager, tender department, and technical department.

6. Work closely with the Customer Training department.

7. Support scientific activities like advisory boards, roundtables, and local KOL engagement.

8. Collaborate with the Market Access team to identify reimbursement and market entry pathways for the AWC portfolio.

9. Work with global and local marketing teams and Sales Force Excellence to contribute to the development and execution of product campaigns.

10. Support Tender Office.

3. KOL & Stakeholder Engagement

11. Strong field and customer-facing activity and engagement.

12. Build and maintain a network of local Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and other relevant stakeholders within the therapeutic landscape.

13. Engage KOLs through educational events, scientific discussions, and advisory boards to foster advocacy and support for technology.

14. Leverage insights gathered from KOL interactions to inform internal strategies for product positioning and market growth.

4. Market Development & Strategy Execution

15. Drive the execution of local market strategies, adapting global initiatives to the local market needs and regulations.

Skills and experience

Experience

16. 3+ years in marketing roles, with a strong focus on medical devices, pharmaceuticals. Specific knowledge and experience in wound care are preferred.

17. Demonstrated experience working in a matrix environment, with the ability to navigate cross-functional relationships and drive results.

Technical Expertise

18. In-depth understanding of the AWC therapeutic area (, infection management, wound care) is highly desirable.

19. Strong knowledge of market dynamics, tender management, and market access in the medical device or pharmaceutical industries.

Business Acumen

20. Strong commercial mindset.

21. Capable of strategic thinking and influencing product development based on market insights and customer needs.

Communication & Presentation Skills

25. Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present business information to diverse audiences, including KOLs, customers, and internal teams.

26. Ability to articulate strategic objectives clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

27. C1 English level mandatory (both written and spoken).

Qualifications and education

28. Bachelor’s or equivalent degree required, preferably in life science, biotechnology/ biomedicine engineering, or in business administration.

Travel Requirements

Ability to travel at least 50% of the time, including participation in face-to-face meetings with customers and attending scientific events. Most trips will include overnight travel

Working Conditions

Hybrid working – 50% working from home and 50% working at Convatec's office located in Barcelona. Must be residing in the area of the city of Barcelona.
