European Business Development Manager, Urethane
As a Business Development Manager, you will directly contribute to the expansion of our market presence and the obtaining of new business. This role is accountable for generating sustainable and profitable revenue by leveraging Trelleborg’s sales excellence tools, resources, and ever-expanding manufacturing capabilities. This individual is expected to build relationships across all levels of target customer organizations and to meet or exceed the customer’s needs. The position will be provided with learning opportunities; however, a proactive approach to researching and grasping the complexities of our product lines and capabilities is essential.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing new business strategies, guiding sales from start to finish.
- Establish high-wide-deep relationships at targeted customers to gain greater understanding of stated and unstated needs, business strategies, etc.
- Develop and execute formal account plans to meet short and long-term revenue and profit targets.
- Establish and manage a robust project opportunity pipeline by identifying, validating, and advancing new opportunities aligned to Trelleborg’s new manufacturing capabilities.
- Foster and develop relationships with key accounts, aligning with their needs and evolving market conditions.
- Work with Product Development and project team to steer innovation toward our strategic targets.
- Maintain and report accurate records and project opportunity statuses in CRM tool and monthly reports.
- Collaborate with marketing to further customer leads and streamline the sales process.
- Explore external resources for insights into market trends and potential opportunities.
- Deep knowledge and skill in overall sales process, preparing for customer calls, anticipating customer needs, and working through customer issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- English speaking is essential. German or Dutch would be advantageous.
- 5+ of experience in sales and account management.
- Strong communication and relationship-building capabilities.
- A proactive approach and the ability to engage in self-driven learning and development.
- Knowledge of technical textiles or polyurethane coated fabrics is essential.

Travel Requirements
- Frequent travel to exhibitions, customer and prospect meetings, and visits to our facilities Europe and U.S.
- Travel requirements (including overnight travel) will be approximately 50% of work time, but remote when not traveling.
- Must be able to drive.
