Platform DevOps Engineer – TGS (Fully Remote)
TEKsystems Global Services (TGS) is hiring a Platform DevOps Engineer to join a high-impact messaging team working on large-scale, Kafka-based platforms. This is a long-term consultancy role offering stability, ownership, and the opportunity to work in a modern, cloud-native environment.
What you’ll do
* Support the migration and consolidation of messaging workloads onto a unified Kafka platform
* Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Pulumi (TypeScript) and GitOps workflows
* Improve platform automation, reliability, and observability
* Troubleshoot distributed systems and messaging pipelines
* Work closely with internal engineering teams to support platform adoption
What we’re looking for
* Strong experience in DevOps or Platform Engineering
* Hands‑on experience with Kafka (Confluent or Strimzi) and core messaging concepts
* Experience with Pulumi (or Terraform with willingness to transition)
* Familiarity with GitHub/GitOps workflows and distributed systems
* A collaborative, customer-oriented mindset
Nice to have
Kafka migrations, Kubernetes basics, Azure exposure, Strimzi, Kafka Connect, Prometheus/Grafana, and experience with Python or TypeScript.

Responsibilities
* Lead the DevSecOps practices and processes within the organization
* Develop and implement DevSecOps strategies for the organization.
* Mentor other engineers in the adoption of Cybersecurity best practices.
* Work with development and operations teams to automate security-based principles.
* Identify and implement tools and processes to improve software development and delivery.
* Actively seek solutions to customer needs, communicate trends to leadership, and suggest innovative solutions on behalf of the customer experience.
* Participate in the design of Multiverse’s toolbox interface.

Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; alternatively, significant work experience as a Software Engineer, with strong emphasis on Cybersecurity.
* 8+ years of experience working as DevSecOps Engineer.
* Strong competence with Network Architecture and related technologies in AWS and/or Azure
* Cybersecurity competence in SAST, DAST, SIEM, SSO, penetration testing, implementing cybersecurity controls.
* Competence with Red Team / Blue Team / Purple Team tactics
* Experience with Cybersecurity Incident Response protocols
* Competence in cryptographic controls, such as SSH key handling, logging, and auditing.
* Competence with Key Management Service, key rotation solutions, and automation.
* Candidates with AWS, Azure and/or Security certifications will be prioritized, especially AWS Certified Security, AWS Certified Advanced Networking. Additional certifications in Cybersecurity and/or Networking (CCNA, CCNP, etc) are highly desirable.
