This position will lead and coordinate the Internal Communications agenda for Openbank worldwide, ensuring coherence with Santander Group's corporate framework while fostering engagement and integration across all countries.
Mission And Responsibilities
As Internal Communications Lead – Openbank Global Business, you will lead and coordinate Internal Communications across all Openbank geographies.
Reporting to the Head of PC&O; Openbank and working in close alignment with Santander Group Corporate Internal Communications, this role is accountable for defining and executing the communication strategy that supports business priorities, cultural integration, and employee engagement.
This role is particularly relevant in the context of organizational integration and the consolidation of Openbank as a General Business across markets.
It requires both strategic vision and strong execution capability to ensure clarity, consistency, and impact in all internal messaging.
You will drive the end-to-end Internal Communications strategy for Openbank, translating business objectives and transformation priorities into coherent, effective, and measurable communication initiatives, fully aligned with Santander Group standards.
Key responsibilities include:
Internal Communication strategy & roadmap
Define and own the Internal Communications strategy and annual roadmap for Openbank globally, aligned with business objectives and Group priorities.
Support the development of a shared culture and consistent narrative across countries.
Prioritize communication initiatives based on business impact, integration milestones, and employee engagement needs.
Stakeholder management & business partnering
Act as the main point of contact for Internal Communications across business areas, consolidating needs and ensuring consistent and effective messaging.
Partner with senior leaders to shape clear, aligned, and impactful communications.
Coordinate closely with Corporate Communications (internal and external) to ensure message alignment and leverage Group channels effectively.
Global coordination & local collaboration
Collaborate with local communication teams across Openbank geographies to promote shared initiatives, exchange best practices, and maintain global coherence.
Act as communications lead in countries where no local structure is in place.
Ensure alignment across markets while respecting local specificities.
Channels, content & engagement initiatives
Oversee and enhance Openbank's internal communication channels (intranet, internal announcements, newsletters, and other platforms), ensuring relevance, consistency, and alignment with Group tools and policies.
Plan, coordinate, and execute key internal communication initiatives and events, including town halls, leadership sessions, newsletters, and internal campaigns.
Draft and manage high-quality communication materials such as announcements, speeches, presentations, and leadership messaging.
Measurement & continuous improvement
Define and monitor success metrics for internal communication initiatives.
Measure effectiveness and propose improvements to increase reach, engagement, and impact.
Ensure clarity, transparency, and consistency across all communication activities.
To Be Successful in This Role, You Must Have:
Significant professional experience in Internal Communications, Corporate Communications, or Marketing, ideally within multinational or matrixed organizations.
Experience working across different countries or in complex organizational environments is valued.
Excellent writing, planning, and coordination skills.
Strong strategic mindset combined with hands-on execution capability.
Proven stakeholder management and influencing skills.
Global perspective and ability to navigate a business operating across multiple geographies and structures.
Fluent Spanish and English (written and spoken).
Proactive, autonomous, creative, and analytical profile, with the ability to work effectively in dynamic and evolving environments.
