About the role
We are looking for a commercially driven
Senior Chartering Broker
specializing in deep sea dry cargo, with a strong focus on the Atlantic market (USG, Caribs, NCSA, WAF, Europe).
The position is designed for a results-oriented broker who can immediately add value through market intelligence, commercial initiative, and direct access to decision-makers within the regions mentioned.

Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate and fix deep sea
dry cargo vessels
across Atlantic trade routes.
- Leverage and expand an existing
network
of owners, charterers, traders, and operators in USG, Caribs, NCSA, West Africa, and Europe.
- Actively generate
new business opportunities
through direct client engagement and relationship management.
- Negotiate
freight rates, terms, and charterparty clauses (GENCON, NYPE, Baltic forms).
- Maintain daily market presence and communication with key industry stakeholders.
- Monitor freight markets, cargo flows, tonnage positioning, and competitor activity.
- Prepare market reports, cargo lists, tonnage positions, and rate benchmarks.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities And Skills
Professional Experience
- Proven experience as a Chartering Broker within deep sea dry cargo.
- Demonstrable and active network of shipowners across the Atlantic regions (ECSA, USG, USEC, Europe, West Africa).
- Existing portfolio of commercial relationships capable of generating immediate business opportunities will be valued.
- Strong track record of negotiating voyage and time charter fixtures.
- Ability to manage multiple negotiations simultaneously under time pressure.
- Solid post-fixture and operational follow-up experience.
Technical & Educational Background
- Proven professional career in shipping.
- Solid knowledge of standard charterparty forms (GENCON, NYPE, Baltic).
- Competent in post-fixture follow-up (laytime, demurrage, voyage execution).
- Advanced Excel skills for freight modeling and commercial analysis.
Languages & Personal Profile
- Fluent English required; additional languages are an advantage.
- Highly commercial, results-driven, and confident negotiator.
- Proactive, relationship-oriented, and able to perform in fast-paced environments.
- Detail-oriented team player with strong operational discipline.
