About the Role :
The Head of Supply Chain is the key representative of Supply Chain and Procurement to the Managing Director / General Manager, the Executive Team, and external stakeholders such as customers. They are part of the Market Executive Team, playing a crucial leadership role in achieving Diageo's goals related to topline, bottomline, cash, and organizational ambition.
The primary goal for the Head of Supply Chain is to position the market as the #1 supplier in the Advantage Survey within the TBA peer group, and within the top 3 within FMCG. This will be achieved by enhancing customer collaboration, delivering exceptional service, and creating value through effective partnerships resulting in strong joint business plans and joint value creation.
Additionally, they will coordinate interfaces with Planning, Logistics, Brand Change, and Innovation, partnering with others as needed to ensure service delivery, inventory management, forecast accuracy, innovation, and cost savings are achieved.
The role involves leading all aspects such as operations, improvements, and transformation; managing the market-specific supply organization; and being the custodian of processes, people, digital capabilities, and operationalizing learnings and insights.
This position reports to the Managing Director / General Manager, holds a key seat on their leadership team, and collaborates closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, and Customers.
Interfaces :
This role operates within a complex network involving :
All countries and channels supervised by the market MD / GM, including all customers.
Diageo's multi-channel approach : Modern Retail, Wholesale, Distributors, Direct to Consumer, Amazon, Direct Sales.
All Supply Chain & Procurement interfaces across functions and categories, including Whisk(e)y, Tequila, Gin, Vodka, Rum, Ready to Drink, Low / No Alcohol, Baileys.
Digital tools such as APO, OMP, SAP S4 Hana, Anaplan.
Top Accountabilities :
Manage the Market Logistics operation, ensuring service, cost efficiency, and compliance. Partner with Commercial, Procurement, and Suppliers to optimize distribution networks.
Enhance customer engagement and collaboration, including :
Champion service :
Improve reliability through tracking and enhancing Case Fill Rate (CFR) and OTIF.
Engage with customer teams, the Diageo market team, and supply teams to diagnose and improve Service as measured by the customer (SambC).
Aim to be the #1 supplier in the Advantage Survey within the TBA peer group and top 3 in FMCG.
Lead joint business plans and joint value creation with customers, focusing on :
Maximizing On Shelf Availability (OSA) and minimizing shrinkage.
Designing and championing logistics aspects of trade terms.
Collaborative forecasting and sustainability solutions.
Lead and coach the in-market supply organization, ensure IBP process standards, and partner with SC&P to deliver the 4C's : customer service, cost, cash, and carbon, along with supply chain innovation. Key interfaces include Planning, Brand Change and Innovation, and Third-Party Manufacturing.
Experience required / Skills / Capabilities
Previous successful experience :
Working directly with senior leadership.
Customer engagement success, especially in Modern Retail, improving customer service and Advantage Survey scores.
Hands-on logistics experience.
At least 12 years in progressive supply chain roles across multiple disciplines, including planning, IBP, S&OP, Demand Planning.
Leading change and innovation within supply chains, with a proven track record of implementing complex strategies and transferring work geographically.
Experience in multiple routes to market, including e-commerce.

Educational background in industrial engineering, supply chain, data science, economics, or related fields; an MBA or MSc in Supply Chain Management is a plus.
