Mission
The Project Manager – GaAs Technology will lead the execution of cross-functional R&D and industrialization projects for photonic and electronic components based on Gallium Arsenide (GaAs). Responsibilities
Project Planning and Execution
* Define project scopes, schedules, resources, and KPIs in alignment with strategic roadmaps.
* Lead multidisciplinary teams through all phases, from concept to manufacturing transfer.
* Monitor timelines, budgets, and risks using professional tools such as ClickUp and Microsoft Project.
Technical Leadership
* Oversee the design, simulation, and physical implementation of GaAs photonic/electronic devices.
* Guide and validate work from junior engineers and contribute to PDK and DRC processes.
* Ensure adherence to technical specifications, regulatory standards, and quality protocols.
Process and Collaboration
* Interface with cleanroom and process engineering teams to support fabrication workflows.
* Coordinate with partners and internal teams in testing, packaging, and documentation.
* Promote continuous improvement through structured feedback, technical reviews, and innovation scouting.
Reporting and Communication
* Prepare detailed technical reports, project updates, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
* Support business development by translating project outcomes into technical insights.
Required Qualifications
* Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Photonics, Applied Physics, Materials Science, or related field.
* Minimum of 7 years managing semiconductor or photonics R&D projects.
* Solid expertise in GaAs-based technologies, including device design, process development, and system integration.
* Proven track record in project management with direct responsibility over budget, scope, and milestones.
* Experience with compound semiconductor fabrication techniques: epitaxial growth, photolithography, dry/wet etching, metallization, etc.
* Proficiency in photonic design tools (e.g., KLayout, Cadence, IPKISS), simulation tools (Lumerical, COMSOL), and electrical/optical characterization setups.
* Deep understanding of PDK development and DRC verification processes.
* Excellent communication skills and fluency in technical English.
Preferred Experience
* Experience in technology transfer, NPI (New Product Introduction), or scaling GaAs devices to manufacturing.
* Project management certifications (e.g., Agile PM, PMI, PRINCE2, Six Sigma).
* Familiarity with device simulation tools for thermal and electrical modeling (e.g., Silvaco).
* Ability to work in international or multi-site environments.
* Keen interest in GaAs applications for photonics, RF, and advanced materials.
